GOD the father commandments to KILL ALL NON-BELIEVERS

"Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the LORD must be destroyed. (Exodus 22:20)

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Actually, I do find much disrespect in this. Not from a Christian point of view, but from an intellectual point of view. Don't you think that if you really wanted intelligent answers to these questions, and perhaps an intelligent discussion privately, that you would have broken these down into 1 or 2 questions per post? Not to mention, that it is very difficult to EXPLAIN truth in a 30 second sound bite. One could take pages upon pages on each question...and chances are you still would not understand. Even a New-Ager will tell you that it is virtually impossible to explain spiritual things to a logical mind. This is NOT to say that there is little or no logic in the Bible. It is highly logical once one understands the spirituality behind it. There are amazing things about the Bible that many Christians are not even aware of, such as: Acrostics, the meaning of numbers, the definitions of the names of people and places. Perhaps Christians should be a bit wiser before stepping into these questions and demand to see proof from the atheist that the atheist understands any part of the Bible. Something like, What is salvation and what is the first step to obtain salvation according to the Old Testament...and according to the New Testament? (And guess what, that is somewhat of a trick question that some Christians would not answer correctly)

exodus specifically states sacrifices. nobody sane makes sacrifices any more the other is one specific case. Now the quran states numerous times that you should give people 3 months to convert then kill those who refuse. islam is a religion of forced conversion and violence. Period! And, I'm neither

God didn't write the bible. A bunch of guys wrote it, and they put in it what they wanted with god and Jesus thrown in for good measure. But if you read between the lines, and a few of the other gospels, the message is clear. God wants us to love each other, not kill each other.

Actually, Christians are to witness, then warn non believers, then leave them, not kill them.

Luke 10:10"But whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near.' 12"I say to you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city. 13"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had been performed in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14"But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. 15"And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!

This command was given only to a particular group of people, and was never meant to apply to every believer at all times.

Gosh! The lack of theological knowledge, as well as the anti-Christian bias illustrated by your question amazes me.

There are a good many unChristian sentiments in the Old Testament. That's why as a Christian, I tend to pay a bit more attention to Christ's teachings - love your neighbour, etc.

Selective reading. Like seeing only every other word. There's always an excuse when you show them what their bible really says. It's laughable knowing that humans are making excuses for god.

He did not. One of the 10 Commandments is "Thou shalt not kill." God has not commanded us to kill anyone.

You are pulling random verses out of context to support your own hatred of Christianity.

You forgot to mention the Book of Joshua.

I think God will sort it all out in the end. God also said "Thou shall not kill."
