That is a good question. The attempt to stop the spread of diseases and unwanted pregnacy probably outweighs the legal and moral issues.

So what's your point? Which would you rather see, unwanted pregnancies and rampant social disease, or the wise use of protection? By the way - all US military exchanges sell condoms, not just those in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan.

AAFES can anything that makes a profit. They are no different than Sears or Macy's. If condoms sell well in those countries that is well and good.
P.S. A condom is used to blouse the bottom on one's fatigues.

Since WW1 Soldiers have been pulling condoms over the barrels of both their Government issue weapons and their personal ones.

These guys are men, men have sex, not all are married guys out to cheat on their wives, or girlfriends you want them to come home with STD ??

Welcome to the real world kiddies.

Well, due to General Order Number 1...there is to be no co-habitation between males and females. That doesn't mean that you can't find a quiet spot somewhere to have a go. This also doesn't really apply to civillian contractors, which there are many of around those places. Females can acutally get in trouble for getting pregnant while deployed, but that has more to do with removing a war fighter from the battle field due to malingering that just having sex.

Anyone who thinks that you can send single (or married people for that matter) on a 15 month deployment and expect them not to have sex has lost their grip on reality. The military is the last bastian of hope for normalcy in America and it is slowly being sucked away. Being deployed is the closest people can get to being in the real military any more...and being in the real military involves being able to have sex with as many women as possible in as many countries as possible. Why not be safe about it?

If you put a condom over the opening of your rifle, it keeps the dust and sand out.

If you don't know why and can't think of one reason why they would sell condoms, I have to question if you're even old enough to be asking this question.
