cockapoo as a breed now, if not them, does someone? or am i thinking of another mix.

No, sorry, the "cockapoo" is a mixed breed dog...(cocker spaniel x poodle)

And here's why they will NEVER be recognized:
As quoted from the AKC website :
"The FSS® is not open to "rare" breeds that are a variation of an AKC-registrable breed or the result of a combination of two AKC-recognized breeds. This includes and is not limited to differences such as size (over and under), coat type, coat colors, and coat colors and/or types that are disqualifications from Conformation Events by AKC breed standards."

Since they are a mix of two recognized AKC breeds, they will never gain recognition...

No the AKC does NOT recognize a Cockapoo..it is NOT a breed. It is a mix.

No legit registry recognizes it as a breed. No mixes are recognized by AKC or any other legit registry.

LOL - AKC only recognizes REAL breeds, not cross-bred mutts!

EDIT - Just checked their full list of breeds - Not a single mutt there - You must be thinking CKC, UKC or APR - They all register "Designer" dogs.

cockapoos have populated to a breed, but their not recognized by AKC. i luv cockapoos. their so cute
