Liquid ibuprofen, as prescribed AND cold compresses to the underarm area and the groin area....the fever should come down quickly with these tactics...
If you're speaking about an infant, then you should definetely call a doctor.
If these things don't work...call a doctor anyway...better to be safe than sorry.

My doctor once told me to take 2 Ibrobufen tablets every 4 hours to help reduce a fever (If you've not eaten anything for a few hours and your stomach is empty,take them with milk instead of water).

Also,even though you may feel hot and want to cool down,thats the worst thing you can do. Make sure you stay warm and sweat the fever out.

And drink plenty of fluids x

Aspirin, drink lots of water. Rest. Cool your body down.
