Rohypnol= also known as roofies
Gamma Hydroxy Butyrate = Known as GHB
and Ketamine Hydrochloride
are all drugs used by sexual predators to slip into un suspecting people's drinks , these drugs make the person lethargic and in most cases knocks them out, where they are then raped. Your friend is right about not leaving your drink un attended, and you should only accept a drink from someone you know and trust. These types of drugs are hard to detect before hand, and in the case of GHB, which is a drug that people can make at home with standard home cleaning agents, it can easily kill someone as well. Thank your friend, she was right in this case. I also recommend reading the link below, this site gives you advice on how to avoid these situations and how to protect yourself. It's sad that some people out there require this type of knowledge necessary.

It is a tranquilizer used in veterinary medicine. Its possession and use by non-licensed persons is illegal. It can, when given to a person, render that person unconscious. For that reason it has been called "the date rape drug". It really can knock you out so that you're unaware of being raped. You might not wake up for hours and by then have been raped dozens of times. Your friend was very wise, and also very kind to warn you...rohypnol does turn clear water and soda blue, so it's usually added to dark colas like root beer, pepsi, coke...or dark mixed drinks.

In addition to the good info here about the effects, keep in mind an overdose will kill. It is a sedative and shuts the Central Nervous System, not legal for prescription for human use in the U.S.
Your friend was so right to warn you. Never leave your drink or food unattended and then consume it. Glad you listened.

It is commonly known as a date rape drug and most times you lose your memory of what happened the night you had it and if you did you should report it and the person that gave it to you the Doctor can check for it in your system.
