Why dont you get your design and have it henna tattooed on at least then you can see if it looks ok where you want it and it not at least you can change your mind,
(19 tats in 2 years never regretted one.. but did think about it for 14 years before i got 1)...

If you aren't sure about the placement on you body you could try and draw it on with eyeliner or something to give you an idea of what it will look like.
I've done that if I've ever doubted a placement and I'm glad I did it, as I managed to place it where I think it will to the design justice.
However...
If you are unsure about the actual design then I would hold off until you are positive you want it.

I agree with everyone, if you are not sure then don-t do it!!!!
i got mine designed by an artist, soon as he showd it to my i was completely sure it was what iu was after!
Remember it IS there for life, choose something timeless and feminine, as your styles and tastes change as we get older!
My recent tattoo was to cover-up and old one from 10 years ago, *teenager-too young to get a tattoo!* it was what i wanted at the time!!
So the answer is no don-t have design jitters then go ahaed.
Re-design it.

If your not sure if you like were it will be placed make a cope and have a friend use markers to place it on you ,that will give you a couple of days to look at it and then you can put it in other places ,
as far as wither or not to get one that is your chose it might be something you are doing to represent something you have accomplished. do not lesson to other just because they don't like them {doesn't mean a think}.
you might not like something they think is just fine like having pink hair.
yes you do wander about the design and place meant its normal ,I have over a dozen and ? every one even changed a few before getting them because of what they symbolized.
so make sure you know what that tattoo means ,it might not be what you want after all .

If you are unsure of it, the tattoo parlor can make the stencil, and put it on you. Look at it in the mirror, and wear it a couple days. See how you feel about it.
I put my tat on my ankle. This way I could show it when I wanted. A tat is something you will have forever, so be sure before you get one.

everyone realizes that tattoos will wrinkle once you get older. however, with today's technology, you can get it removed very easily. when i got my first tattoo it was really hard for me to think that it would be part of me. but, once i got i realized it was not that bad. everyone gets jitters but you just have to either suck it up and get over it and go through with it or dont get it all. but make sure you really love the design and don't believe the little myths about placement you may hear. good luck!

Use any black pen (even a ball point) and create the tattoo you have in mind on EXACTLY the site where you want to have it done.
This will give you the idea of just what the design will look like, and whether you will like it when its done. (If the site where you are having the tattoo is difficult to reach, find a friend whom you TRUST to pen it in for you).

Nope. Sounds like you've done the work. Very good. NEVER get any corny design on the wall of the shop. Maybe you can find inspiration there, but always make it your own. I'm going to be completing my right arm on the 13th. You'll see, they are addictive. And do not hurt as bad as people think. Enjoy, and don't be nervous. You'll be thinking about your next one before your done getting this one. Good Luck and welcome to the club.

I didn't worry about the design, just how it would look on my body where I was getting it.
What I done was get a copy and stick it on where you want it and kinda visualise from there =)
