This is just a question, nothing more. It's not about me, I'm just wondering...
Okay, so if someone doesnt really care about anything and doesn't care if one day while they're walking down the street or something and they get shot and die, is that considered being suicidal?
So basically, I'm asking is it considered being suicidal if someone doesn't care if they die because they think that there really isn't a point in living, but they wouldn't ever kill themselves or want to kill themselves...

No, that's not suicidal. That is severe depression and could lead to being suicidal...but apathy in itself is not suicidal.

if someone is walking down the street, gets shot and dies, well that's probably murder...

being suicidal is when a person makes plans to kill themselves, and has idea they'd like to end their lives. if they don't care if they live or die, but don't make plans or have ideas, i wouldn't consider them suicidal.

why all the questions?

i dont consider that suicidal unless you purpopsly put your self in a position knowing theres a large chance you could be shot or whatever walking down the street. that just sounds like depression, care less if you live or die sorta thing. either way whoever feels this way needs to talk to a professional or atleast their parents to get put on some anti depress. meds if nothing else is going on pyschologically with them

Every one in this world has thought about suicide. To me a suicidal thought can only be analyzed by the person, they need to be able to see if there thought causes a threat to people physically or emotionally, and decide the best path to take.

to answer the Q, if I thought that than yes I would consider that suicidal, you are begging that the end come sooner than it should. this could also be seen as a fearless act taunting death.

Generally, being suicidal means you WANT to die and talk about wanting to die or try to kill yourself. What you are describing sounds more like a form of depression or maybe just someone having a 'dark period' in their life. Either way, they should talk to somebody about it...whether it be a close friends, a parent, or a counselor/therapist.

i think they are really depressed and they have no beliefs in life. They may be suicidal but i think they just need something good to live for. If they feel like this all the time, do that, but it may only be a phase, i've felt like that for a while as im sure a fair few people have.
I doubt ive helped you answer your question but i like to think i can help

No, that sounds ambivalent. This is fairly common.

Walking down the street without being able to stop thinking about ways to kill or hurt oneself is suicidal.

I don't think so. It sounds like the person just accepts the fact that you could die any day you wake up. Isn't that better than waking up thinking.. OH MY GOD... I COULD DIE TODAY!!! Then spending that day and many others after that stuck in your home afraid to come out.

I think that could be considered suicidal. I have heard people talk like that before and it makes me really angry that people wouldnt care that much about their own lives...
