Yes. I love using it to help others and find solutions to problems of my own too. I spend a lot of time on yahoo answers.

I find it somewhat therapeutic in that it gives me an outlet to share information and feel like I am helping others as well as get some help myself. I like it because I can visit as little or as much as I like. This flexibility allows me to visit and answer questions when I have enough time to really put some thought into them; whereas a casual in-person encounter could easily become rushed with all the things each of us have to do daily.

It is somewhat therapeutic for me trying to help others.
When I am lucky and get chosen as "Best Answer", it makes me feel happy. It makes me think I may have some kind of value after all.

I think so - yes. It's good to be able to help someone and share the information you have. It's also nice to know that when your feeling down so many will be there for you - even if in reality they may have forgotten about you two minutes after they posted.

I like y-answers, yes.
i have a mental illness, am disabled, and have overcome many hurdles in my life.. i'm not young, rather wise, and i am willing to share my knowledge and experiences.
those for whom i leave an answer can take it or leave it.. but i hope that i can be of help to at least a few.
