I tried Chablis and Sauvignon to try and cut thru the intensity but the fish just keeps on coming! thanks for any advice.

I would recommend Banrock Station The Reserve Chardonnay Verdelho 2006, is about £8 per bottle and it is 13% volume. It is very very nice and i have had it with anchovies many a time.

Try Chianti - it balances the strong flavor of garlic and just might be the ticket! Cheers!

Anything white is fine with anchovies ;)
