I follow the word of God to the best of my ability, I pray and read the bible morning and night, I have been baptised and changed my old ways to be a better Christian. I never miss a service and always attend bible study.

However, I became a Christian because I want to be a good mum. I have been trying to conceive for 10 months and with no joy as of yet turned to the Lord for his help.

The reason I ask am I bad Christian is because, the Church keeps mentioning Heaven and my plan of salvation. However, I really ain't to bothered whether I go to heaven or hell, I'd prefer Heaven but either way as long as have been a good mother and a good wife in this life I'm not that fussed.

Is this bad, I have started to feel really guilty that I put my family values above the Lord.

You're not a bad christian. You are just a good person who values family. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, God is smiling on you right now.

You didn't put your family values above God. You are trying to be the best mother & parent you can be, and that's EXACTLY what God wants you to do. You even work with God to help you conceive a child. And as for the child, have you ever considered that God hasn't helped you become pregnant because it's not you or the child's time? You must be patient and wait until God is ready to give you a child (it could be weeks, months, or even years). Please don't be mad at God for "not helping you" conceive a child. God does not feel it is the right time for you to have a baby for one reason or another. Maybe he wants you learn patience and understanding for couples who have difficulty in conceiving so you gain empathy.

"I really ain't to bothered whether I go to heaven or hell"

That's NOT putting your family values ahead of the Lord. Whether you go to Heaven or not is not screwing over God, it's screwing over yourself. So if you choose to focus more on being a terrific mother (which is great by the way!) than your own salvation why would God be angry? God doesn't get angry. Hence the all loving he always gives.

You're doing a fine job and it sounds like you'll be a great mother. I'll pray for you and for your speedy conception.

You wrote the following:
"However, I became a Christian because I want to be a good mum. I have been trying to conceive for 10 months and with no joy as of yet turned to the Lord for his help."

After ELEVEN years of trying to have a baby I got pregnant and had a miscarriage. A year later I was pregnant again and now have a 16 month of beautiful girl. Sometimes God isn't telling you "No" hun. Sometimes your body and mind are stressed and that can take a huge toll on your fertility. Sometimes God is saying "Wait... you need a little more time." It's never easy to not get what you want right away, especially when your dreams of having a baby seem to be going up in smoke. I want to refer you to Isaiah 41:10 - It says "Fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am YOUR God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will surely uphold you with my righteous right hand." It's a promise that God never fails to keep for those that truly believe in Him.
Questioning ones faith is a normal part of being a Christian. Not giving a rip whether or not you go to Hell is something you should be concerned about. From my own personal experience, I have found that falsifying my faith even to myself can have serious detrimental effects on my spiritual life and walk with Christ. God CANNOT be fooled.... I'll be praying that you are given wisdom and peace in the situations you are dealing with, and that you are able to have another baby as well. {{{{{{{{bighugs!}}}}}}}}}

Actually, one cannot call another a "bad christian". After all, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
However, being a christian isn't simply going to church and being baptized. That is a part of it-like a penny is a part of a dollar. Christianity is about having a relationship with God; admitting we are sinners and need His forgiveness; as well as forgiving ourselves and others and trying to live like Jesus did while he was here.

I don't know why you can't conceive. However that doesn't mean you're a bad person. If you feel guilty than pray. We are told, in the bible, to give our burdens to the Lord. He will bear it for you. Whatever you feel guilty of confess it and ask for forgiveness & He will forgive.

Also consider, we can be our worst enemies and are more judgemental of ourselves than others are (including God).

Honey we're not to put anything before/above God. This Is called Idolatry. Just repent and ask Jesus to forgive you and ask Him to start revealing His word to you. But heaven & hell Is a chioce. It's all about the Master you serve In this life. God or satan. There are only 2 forces In this world. Choose you this day who you will serve. Today Is the day of salvation. Tomorrow may be too late.
You can be the best person In the world and still go to hell. God says no one Is Good. That ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Being good will not get you Into heaven. It's only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and accepting Him as your Lord & Savior.Repent(turn away from your sins). Even In our most righteous state, Is as filthy rags to God.

Maria, God doesn't expect you to choose between your family and Him! You can be a wonderful Mother and Wife and a Christian too. No one can ever "do" enough to go to Heaven. That's why Jesus was sent in our place to die for our sins so we can go to Heaven. I don't think you are a bad Christian but I do think you need a little more enlightenment.

No one can judge you except God. I think it is admirable that you want to be a good mother. It's wonderful that you make your family such a priority.

I do have to question your comment that you are not too worried about going to Hell. I am thankful for everlasting life so that I can spend eternity with my family in Heaven.

Not a bad Christian, just a confused one. You need to get your priorities in order. Seek first the Knigdom of God and His righteousness, then all these things will be added unto you. It may help to re-read the story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis, from beginning to end.

Wow. Im not a Saint, so i wont telling what is wrong or what is bad. I got a lot of sin myself. But I want you ask this question to your pastor : what we live for in this world, in a connection with GOD? Is raising a family will ruine your connection with GOD?
See the answer, perhaps you will get a clear thought about it.
God Bless You..

No, you're not bad, just confused.
You are obsessing over the fact that you want to be a mom. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a mom. However, if you have anxiety over the whole situation, your body may respond by preventing you from conceiving.
I know it must be hard to do, but you need to try to relax. That way, you are more likely to become a mother.
