You should start by visiting a local independent agent. The agent knows the plans available in your area and can find the best policy for your situation and budget. The plans and premium is exactly the same whether you use an agent or buy directly from the company.
Do not try to do this over the internet. It'll take you several days to intelligently compare all the plans available. Also, you state you're taking birth control for medical reasons. That pre-existing condition, depending upon what it is, may result in an increased premium, a rider, or a decline. The agent can inquire with the insurance companies to find the one that will cover your condition the best. If you apply on-line you won't find out the result until after you've been underwritten. I'm sure you don't want to waste your time with a company that will decline you.
You may get spam answers here concerning medical discount cards. Be very wary of these cards. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of “save up to 80%” be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. Montana couldn’t find any doctors in the whole state that actually took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card and fined the company. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2006/11/22/74554.htm for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards as well.
Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won’t give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they’re still taking the card (many don’t even know that they’re listed as a provider) and that they’re accepting new patients.

RE :I need afforable health insurance.?
I don't even know how to look for insurance but I need to find an affordable individual insurance policy in Nevada. I am a 22/female. However I am asthmatic (only mildly) and I take birth control for medical reasons (I am not sexually active). However I have never smoked, done drugs, and if I drink it will only be like one glass 1-3x a year, so hardly at all.

I represent Arizona residents only, but looked up rates for Nevada for you with Anthem Blue Cross, http://www.anthem.com/wps/portal/ahpmember?content_path=member/nv/f3/s2/t0/pw_ad071388.htm&rootLevel=2&state=nv&label=Individual%20Health
You may view all plans, prices, and apply online through their site.
Prices range from $128-$192 per month for a female 22.
The asthma most likely will not be a problem, nor will birth control. Medical records may be requested by the underwriter, but if you can supply as much information as possible on the application regarding the asthma, possibly they won't ask for them. I would get a copy of your records in any case to have on hand.
Hope this helps.

Forget telling us your story because we don't do quotes but ,
I do know that any worthwhile insurance is pricey .
(look in the yellow pages under insurance agents and get several quotes )
But , the better route is to get a job that has insurance .
Work for the phone company , utility providers , or any major employer .
Get a job that comes with coverage . . .
Unless mommy and daddy left you with a big trust fund .

Try looking into the Health Savings Account (HSA). The deductable it high but the monthy premimum is low. It's fairly new to the insurance world, but it's something that you may want to look into.
