In my opinion, since distance is probably the most important element in a "fight" (i do not condone illegal fights) your feet are always moving so I wouldn't call it a stance as much as a posture.... but in a boxers range the boxing stance would be the one I would utilize ... where you are almost "square to your opponent" and short blocks to make your opponent barely miss, but never moving your hands out of range to defend as the distance gets greater i gradually become more "narrow" to make my body a smaller target for powerful kicks, also my blocking motion becomes great to try to leave my opponent off balanced for a counter (the reason i can take a chance on a bigger block, is it is less likely from the distance a combo will come so fast that i cant recover in time, also at a greater distance the narrow stance is better for fast low to mid kicks... again just my opinion, there are many people out there with different views than I have that can kick my humble ***

I do not believe in street fighting. It is illegal and unethical.
I practice many stances. A person that only has one stance is not fully utilizing their maximum body potential.
When I kumite I start from a neutral guarded stance. I move in a balanced stance. Then I explode into my other stances when I engage my opponent. Sometime front, sometimes back, sometimes side and sometimes crossing. It depends on the situation.
I never remain in the same stance, I would get destroyed if I did.

In reality most stances are very temporary positions.

moto dachi is good for sparring but in self-defense I would go straight into a technique rather than a stance.

Though many techniques end with your body in a particular stance.

I like to stay on the balls of my feet and always moving like bruce did. Always in motion never in the same place and waiting for the right moment to make your strike.

Same here. I am taking a sort of Savate-Karate mix. Sounds odd combining two very different martial arts but it works.

I do Muay Thai stance.
It's stable.
It's difficult for the opponents to take you down by leg kicks, and it gives good defense to almost anything.
