After January 20, 2009 any church that teaches against the Clinton agenda will lose their tax exempt status. Taking a cue from how the Boy Scounts have been denied public access, any church unwilling to marry same sex couples will be denied use of any government facilities. All approved churches must have an equal number of women clergy. 2009 will be the start. The rest will happen in 2013 when religion will be eliminated along with the repeal of the 23rd amendment.

Maybe somewhere. It seems possible that in some countries it will be illegal to be anything but the established religion. There is definitely a historic precedent for that.

In America, it seems more likely that all but Bush's religion would be illegal. For something like this to happen, I would envision Bush declaring martial law sometime before the next election due to some massive false flag attack on the US and then ruling with dictatorial powers. He would then declare almost all religions, other than his own, to be forms of terrorism and dangerous to national security.

That's the only way I can see something like this being likely to happen. However, I don't even consider this to be a likely scenario unless the very most paranoid of the conspiracy theorists just happen to be correct.

I can't believe all these people that are so against
religion, they don't realize all it is is propaganda and
"scape goat" strategy!!!
Without religion, you will be left with no check on
government and government will take everything
away even if it all looks so good at first.
PLEASE learn from history.
What, are you expecting a "Holocaust" or something
(on all who support religion -bigger than the Jewish one)?
Do you want a Nazi or Communistic regime running
things? That is really what you are asking for!
Be careful to look at ALL facts and not this stupid
idiotic philosophy you are being fed and
manipulated by. We ARE spiritual beings and
that is the only thing we can be sure about in
life, the only thing that causes ANY amount of love and
freedom to abound and exist for the long term.
Get wise!
The Bible is true because everything I see
mankind currently doing is explained so
well in it! - and there is nothing new - it is
SO profound!
"in the last days, the love of many will grow
cold" and "they will no longer tolerate truth"
but they will "exchange truth for a lie."
This is really serious!

You have sort of a point, being government is just beginning to topple all of false religions, that is, the gubmint will conquer all of false religions. The last thing that will happen just before Armageddon is that the "gubmint" will attack the one and only "true" religion. When this happens God will step in and send his son to not only destroy all of mankind's gubmints and those mingling in them (militaries, politicians, etc.) but Jesus will destroy all wicked humans in the earth.

So, in essense, the government will outlaw all of false religions but when they try to attack the only true religion, this will trigger Armageddon.

I'm just not so sure that it will be year 2009. It could be year 2008, or 2012. Nonetheless it will be sooner than later. We can look at the chaotic and evil state of the world and know that God will not allow us to go on much further in this anarchaic world.

That's an opinion question . But I'll say that there is noway that religion can be made illegal . Religion is a belief. How can you be jailed for believing something ? How would the police know what's in your mind ?
Hitler and Stalin tried to discourage religion , but failed .

The government will topple all of false religions then it will attack the witnesses. When this happens, this is when God steps in by sending his son, Jesus to take wrath upon all wicked in the earth that includes all false religions and those involved in them, the governments, militaries, all wicked will be wiped out.

Hope this has helped.

Religion is illegal today. Religion was illegal in ancient Rome. We don't really change much. If you don't belong to the "right" religion, you can get in trouble. Right?

Will there be a 2009? If so, there will be religion.

I don't practice religion, but would not want to see it illegal ever. As long as they're respecting the rights of the non-religious, we should respect their right to practice their religion. It's one of the primary reasons the US was founded in the first place - so people could worship freely.

For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished.” (Revelation 17:17) What is God’s “thought”? To arrange for the executioners of Babylon the Great to band together, in order to destroy her completely. Of course, the rulers’ motive in attacking her will be to carry out their own “one thought.” They will feel that it is in their nationalistic interests to turn upon the great harlot. They may come to view the continued existence of organized religion within their boundaries as a threat to their sovereignty. But Jehovah will actually be maneuvering matters; they will carry out his thought by destroying his age-old, adulterous enemy at one stroke!—Compare Jeremiah 7:8-11, 34.

21 Yes, the nations will use the scarlet-colored wild beast, the United Nations, in destroying Babylon the Great. They do not act on their own initiative, for Jehovah puts it into their hearts “even to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast.” When the time comes, the nations will evidently see the need to strengthen the United Nations. They will give it teeth, as it were, lending it whatever authority and power they possess so that it can turn upon false religion and fight successfully against her “until the words of God will have been accomplished.” Thus, the ancient harlot will come to her complete end. And good riddance to her!

22 As if to emphasize the certainty of Jehovah’s execution of judgment on the world empire of false religion, the angel concludes his testimony by saying: “And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:18) Like Babylon of Belshazzar’s time, Babylon the Great has “been weighed in the balance and found wanting.” (Daniel 5:27, The New English Bible) Her execution will be swift and final. And how do Jehovah’s Witnesses respond to the unraveling of the mystery of the great harlot and of the scarlet-colored wild beast? They show zeal in proclaiming Jehovah’s day of judgment, while answering “with graciousness” sincere searchers for truth. (Colossians 4:5, 6; Revelation 17:3, 7) As our next chapter will show, all who are desirous of surviving when the great harlot is executed must act, and act quickly!
