So far this morning I have noticed a little more unrespectful comments from both athiest and deist than usual.

Can we please treat each other with respect? Can't that be the one thing that we all agree on?

It may not be the amount of the disrespectful remarks but rather the degree to which the remarks are disrespectful that seems not like the R&S that I know. did we wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

I am not asking that we agree. I expect us ALL to disagree but we can be respectful in our discussions.

I agree that we can all agree to disagree without being unkind.

As far as waking up on the wrong side of the bed, I have noticed that in the last few days, where I live, the seasons are changing dramatically, it's getting colder and the days are getting shorter. A lot of people that I have come across are cranky.

Let's not forget our manners folks no matter whats going on that makes us grumpy.

Yes we need to respect what others think, and say, or we cannot expect to be heard by them.

God loves us, every one. God's Word says LOVE!

Just imagine what our country could look like, if for one month we were intentional about focusing on manners, respect, integrity and thankfulness in our families, business dealings, school life, athletics, and in our churches!

Marriages could be healed as husbands feel respected and wives feel appreciated.

Family tensions eased as children express gratitude to their parents rather than whining and complaining.

Road rage would disappear, AND employee relationships would be smoother. Clients would love the great customer service!

Athletes would play fairly!!! The school yard bully could be won over by kindness. Etc.

Good point. Let's earn respect, please, by giving it. We want the conversation to continue, not chase away those who do not agree.

On the other hand, I believe in "tough love". It is no kindness to pat a person on the back as they go off a cliff to their doom! That's like refusing to spank children who rush into the street in front of cars, letting them die. Ditto for urgently preventing drinking and driving (the life you save may be your own)!!!

I know Dr Spock said not to spank, but God warned that if we "spare the rod, we spoil the child". God's son Jesus rose from the grave to eternal life. Dr Spock's own spoiled grandson committed suicide. Who are you going to BELIEVE?!?

I believe there is a hell...worse than us Yahoos can ever even imagine...and I want to stop "me too" lemmings heading toward the cliff on the EASY broad way to destruction.

Turn from sin to Jesus who is "The Way"!!! At least concede that He is wiser, and it is important to read our bible, no matter what the ACLU says.

Finally, let me note that the court, where the ten commandments are removed, expects you to swear on a bible to tell the truth. What in God's creation do the godless witnesses have to swear on?!?

Yes, I have noticed this as well. I have also noticed a little more unrespectful comments and questions from theists as well (especially in the preaching disguised as questions).

However, I doubt very much that people will be moved to become more respectful. Can you rein in your brothers and sisters in christ?

YEs. we can agree to disagree, each with a right to speak what they believe, but it shouldt be done in hate, or with sexual comments, or just ugly vile comments. THe hate mail some send is incredible. But I leave it all to God. I am bold about the gospel and some hate it, but I sitll dont know why they would hate God and be on a religious site, ITs their right to be here, buts ours to be here as well.
WE must agree to disagree, but with respect. If we cant be respectful, we shouldnt be allowed to be on here. Tho some will report you just cuz they dont agree. Thats not abuse.
If thats the case, how could any of us stay on here??????
I can say what I believe and it may offend you, as your truth may offend me, just because we believe so differently on here. But, its not an attack or a hate crime, or bein respulsive and hateful. YOu see ppl right sexual stuff about what they will do to us or our God, and thats just vile. You see pictures with filth on them, and with dirty sayigs for names. That shouldnt be allowed. Filth and perverseness should never be allowed on this, just in your own homes if you want that. Yet, they will turn around and tell us to shut up when we talk about God. We havent been hateful or tried to offend anyone, but we are told to SHUT UP. I dont understand it, but I know Christians must just stand, give it to God and continue to ask and answer with dignity and respect to everyone, even those that mock us.
God will show us how, if we ask. HE is always faithful.
Great question. I hope many will hear this.... and then do it.
God bless you.

I always try to be respectful in my responses. I was taught from an early age that if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all. So God bless all of you.

There is no better time to deceive then when a question is asked. So, put on your full Armour of Christ and remember it's a battleground here.

What do you mean by respect? Respecting others' right to disagree is fine, but respecting goofy superstitious beliefs is not fine. Such beliefs are the things which lead to brainless intolerance, condescending "pity," and ultimately horrible violence - they have earned contempt, not respect!

Batgirl needs to be able to distinguish between respect for her person and disrespect for her beliefs.

Excellent question! You deserve a star!

For batgirl2good: If you've noticed, most people who preach tolerance have the least of it themselves. It's a very strange phenomenon!

God bless!!

It would be nice, but I have been told by a FEW atheists that no Christian or any other believer is worthy of any respect at all. Some think that we deserve nothing but ridicule.

How very tolerant, accepting, and open-minded, huh?
