Well the corps is a tight knit unit, and they do not tolerate bullying within the corps if you pull your weight, and are a team player, but if you start to let the side down, they sort out thier problems from within the unit.
To become a Royal Marine, you must prove in training that you have the necessary qualities and skills: fitness, commitment, discipline and self-confidence - you also have to be able to keep good spirits in adversity.
I never joined, but as my father was a weapons training instructor and physical fitness instructor in 40 and 42 Comando near the end of his time, I spent a lot of my early childhood in and around ther training facilities at Lympsham.

There has been the occasional incident which has been reported but I imagine the perpetrators were stamped on pretty hard. There is also no doubt that the 9 months basic training course is the toughest in the world, which is why those who qualify for the green beret are arguably the best fighting troops in the world. My son has been in the Corps now for 17 yrs. He is tough, resilient and still a very kind. He has a very responsible job and I know he would never tolerate any bullying amongst the men and I don't think any of his friends (who are great guys) would tolerate it either.

I think that happens in most armed forces, they do it just for fun, to make each other tougher and meaner
