In Jesus' model prayer, the "Our Father" he addressed God as the one he was praying to. No where did he say to pray or praise himself. All our prayers are addressed to God Himself but should be through Jesus Christ as he died for us. If a prayer is said and not through Christ, God does not hear it.

Every time Jesus went off to pray he did so only to his Father. Another way to tell that they are not one and the same. If Jesus is God, why would he need to pray to himself?

Pray to God, the Bible never instructs you to pray to Jesus. Who did Jesus pray to? He prayed to the Father. Jesus is now one with the Father in Heaven.

Jesus prayed to His Father not Himself so I would say that the proper thing for us to do is to believe in Jesus and His teachings but pray directly to His Father Yahweh.

God has so many names. You can pray to Him in different names as you feel the need to. Redeemer, Comforter, Prince of Peace, God, Father... etc. The main thing about praying to Jesus is just realizing that you are praying through Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross it (for lack of better words) opened a door to God for us. That's why people end their prayers with "in Jesus' Name'. Jesus, God and Holy Spirit are one. There is no need to make 3 seperate prayers. When you talk to Him, He is listening.
Good question!

Making God into a man, or a man into God, is idolatry, let alone then worshipping that man/god.

Worship God alone. God is one, not 3-in-1, not consisting of God, and a child that was a product of a pagan mating ritual in which a god swoops down and marries a human virgin, either.

So, pray to whomever you like, but if you pray to anyone other than God, and God alone, (no Triune, no Jesus), then you are practicing ancient paganism and idolatry.

It is also idolatry to put anything before God which you must go to in order to reach God. We are to go DIRECTLY to God, it is idolatry to have a mediator to have to go through.

Jesus stands at the right side of the throne of God interceding on our behalf. He told us to always pray in His Name to the Father. Through Him we can boldly approach the throne of grace.
