Oh my goodness this is an awesome question!! You really ministered to me with that because I don't think I ever thought about it that way. I just had to stop by and say that.
Of course there is life after death....that's what I'm living for! My hope lies in my eternity in life with Jesus Christ!
Way to go Reverend! This was a GREAT question!

I'm not sure if there is an afterlife or not. I try to live NOW - experience things NOW - and ENJOY all of the beauty and love now. And GIVE to the world now.
If I were just going through life - waiting for the prize at the end - that would be pretty pitiful.
The "prize" is here and now. There may be more after this. I'm not sure. Nobody can prove that there is or isn't.
Namaste!

great question!
If you believe in the Bible you will have this answered in no time.
The truth is that John 5:28,29 states: (28) "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (29) and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
So as you can see the deceased will resurrect, that is the hope for the one's who have died.
The living then should do their best to serve Jehovah (the hebrew name of God mentioned in the bible in Psalms 83:18) the way the bible says to.
Unfortunately a lot of different religions and their filigrates/followers think that all the religions honor God but the truth is that the bible says how to serve Jehovah. And it won't be enough if we say that we're Christian because Jesus said that not all who say 'Lord, Lord' will be saved (Matthew 7:21). Jehovah will only save those who learn what his work is and do it correctly. As it is taught in the bible.

Life itself is a joyful, exciting journey, full of surprises and wonderful things to learn. The potential for delight appears every morning and vibrates through each day. Each person one encounters may become a friend, or may impart wisdom. Each meal is a feast. There is no need for life after death. This life is enough.

For those of you who aren't aware, this isn't life, this is death. The moment we are born into this world, we start dying. The hope you are referring to is inate to humans. The hope of our purpose here is to learn from the physical side of things. We were born with everything we need spiritually, remember, we are FROM God, and in his likeness, meaning he didn't send us here empty-handed. Our hope is to go back home where we came from. We came from nowhere to now here, the only difference is a little space : )

If the only reason you have any hope in your life, if the only reason you can find to live, is to worship your god, then you must live a horrible terrible life. I have no god, yet I'm quite filled with hope, and love, and joy.
You need to get away from your religion. Its poisoning your mind as can obviously be seen by what you just said.

Living is meaningless for humans, same as cats, dogs and birds. The life after death thing is a scam used to control and exploit people.

To make a difference while we are HERE, in this life, the only one we know for sure that we have. To love and be loved. To raise beautiful, healthy children who will someday raise children of their own. To help those who need us.
Why live in hopes of something for which there is no proof? You KNOW you have this life -- make the most of it.

I ask that all the time...but I'm a believer...in God that is. I think there are some questions that can only be answered with..."exactly there would be no point". How can people wake up every day not terrified of dying if they think this is all there is? And what stops them from committing crimes? People who have no beliefs scare me. Anyway yeah, there wouldnt be a Hope. (my name by the way lol)

Why would live be more meaningful if the purpose of life was afterlife? As long as the existence of afterlife is unproven, it makes more sense focusing on living than dieing.
