I was at a pastors meeting in Indiana last week, and one of the pastors there was telling a story about his hunting trip last month. He was in the woods and shot a fox. He gravely injured it, and it laid there where it was shot. When he came up to the fox, it looked at him and said, "The King is coming." The pastor said, "Oh crud, I shot a talking fox!" But the fox said again, "Don't worry, the King is coming." Then it died. He told his wife, and later she went to the zoo. She came to the giraffes and one was close to her. She said to the giraffe, "The King is coming," and the giraffe turned to her and knelt it's head to the ground as if bowing.
So the question is, "Are animals more aware of what's happening in the supernatural than us?"
Go ahead and leave your one-line answer of "That story is a lie." It's not, but I know many of you will still put that and not answer the actual question.

Were you there or are you just gullible? What kind of sicko shoots animals & watches them die suffering anyway? You both seem delusional to me.

sorry, I'm an atheist. i also dont believe that animals can talk. wow. btw, I'd like to quote you. "that story is a lie" yes it is, and I'm answering the question this way cuz I want to spare the ppl who might believe this, from the horrible possiblity of believing everything pastors say. I don't have to meet the pastor to know that the story is a load of crap. Nothing against you. Something against the pastor. Poor fox. Why did he watch it suffer? That's not very pastor-y like. y did the wife go to the zoo? why a giraffe? But, the animals are more aware of things, not necessarily the supernatural, than most ppl, but not all.

Why did the pastor's wife say that to the giraffe?
What church are these people from?
Animals can sense things like earthquakes and tsunamis and such, it's been proven--so why not. I've heard of a cat that lived in a haunted house where the baby living there was threatened by the presence and it tried to defend the baby. St. Francis, as you may know, preached to all creatures including animals...If all this is true, then maybe this pastor should give up hunting.

No. I don't believe that animals are more aware because that would make them subject for redemption also on the day of Christ's return. And animals don't have souls. They are not going to heaven. But I believe your story. Mainly because there is no reason for me not to since it has already happened before in the bible. (Num.22:21-31) I believe animals have feelings and are aware of things. And they will respond to their creator Meaning they would recognize and know who He was if he were to be standing right beside them. But here's the misconception I want to address. The animal in this story could not have said that unless God did it. That animal can't talk on it's own.
It's not about the animal.....it's about God. And He is coming.
I know He is. He was just telling your Pastor not to worry because He is coming. And He's coming soon my friend.
But He didn't just say that on His own. God enabled him to say it. That had nothing to do with that animal. God could have used anything to say that. Including a tree or water. He just so happened to use a fox. And as far as the giraffe bowing his/her head to what the Pastors wife said, the word says that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
I believe that that is true....Everything in nature will have to acknowledge it's creator. But animals aren't meant to partake in the salvation Christs has provided for us. That's why I mentioned earlier that they don't have souls. So why would it be necessary for them to be aware that Jesus is coming when nothing's going to happen with them? They're animals....
Whom I don't personally believe the Lord has revealed his will to concerning the tribulation. He's given us His word...what has He given them?
God Bless You my friend and
yet another awesome question.

I place absolutely no trust in someone who hears a story like that and simply assumes it's true. Unless this pastor gave you some evidence which you decided not to mention to us, the only reason you'd believe him is just because you want to.
And in answer to your question, animals other than humans are unable to comprehend the concept of the supernatural.

OK. A short sweet answer to your question. Yes. Wild animals are more attuned than domesticated animals and humans. No comment on the rest of the story. Good one. You have a star.

Well, foxes do not have the facilities required to communicate in such an articulate manner.. It is also likely that animals are more concerned with survival than pondering the afterlife, or the king.

I guess Doctor Dolittle has converted. But you're right. Animals don't generally speak in any human language*, so it didn't happen.
Still, in asserting animals may be more spiritually aware because of saying "the king is coming", it is presuming that christianity is true. If it isn't true (and with the premise of talking animals) they are as deluded as humans.

True story or not, animals are very aware of the spiritual world. They see and hear things we can't. When I work magic, my cats gather around and in the area of work. They alert me to many happenings and add their energy to my work. But, I don't think they said the King is coming. This preacher, how could he take an innocent life for sport if he loves god and his creation?

And how do you know the pastor was telling the truth. Were you there? If you were I would acknowledge this story a little more.

what king? the lion king? it's mufassa's boy! no one knoweth the time or the hour. but yes i do believe animals are more susceptible to what is going on. but in lore the fox is always the liar. don't you watch dora the explorer? swiper no swiping!
and to what purpose was a fox sending this message? it doesn't tell us anything we don't already know, so God wouldn't need to communicate in this way.
