"Mega-Preachers" are as scandal-prone as ANY person in a position of influence and frequent media exposure. Celebs live under a bright spot light, be they politicians, movie-stars, performers or televangelists. Unfortunately, when people acquire wealth and power the often become deluded into believing they are excused and/or exempted from the social standards and laws that the rest of us are expected to follow. Humans are still human after all regardless of their professed "Godliness". (Do the names "Paris Hilton" or "Jimmy Swaggert" come to your mind by chance?)

Yes...they are...because few actually live up to what they are preaching....I do not mean to say they are not sincere in the faith but this whole mega thing has turned into merchandising propaganda of who can sell the most tapes and who has the largest ministry...and on and on....

I am finding difficulty with a lot of what goes on in the Word of Faith movement and I question the foundation of what they stand on...a lot of it does not add up except for them and the poor people who buy into this "Western gospel"...

I believe the day is fast approaching to the ultimate demise of the mega-preachers and the emphasis return to the local pastors, back to serving the poor and disenfranchised, not how much money we can get from practising 14 principles

There needs to be balance in all things. I actually think the whole body of Christ should be working together with their various gifts and by the Grace of God perhaps that time will come before Jesus returns. This is a sad case of the foot saying to the hand "I don't need you" People do need teachers, prophets, evangalists, Prophets, etc in their lives. I think this happens because of being too spiritual.......and not receiving good bible instruction.

No, but high visibility makes them prime targets for anything
that comes along. No privacy sees that the slightest
indiscretion is gonna be a major catastrofy

I've thought that when ever I pass all these "mega-churches" being constructed. It seems like there's alot of these HUGE ones going up about an hour west of Chicago. Even if I went to church, I wouldn't want any part of one of those...there just seems to be something crooked about them.

I think that Lord Acton was right in his comments on power and its tendency to corrupt.

Mega-preachers accumulate power.

Yup. They're all in it for the cash. They're closet atheists really.
