Leviathin,
There have countless amounts of times I didn't have enough money to pay my bills. For a whole year I had no car and no phone and some nights went to bed hungry...but I was still wealthy......I had my family, friends and LOVE. That is what matters. These are the things that are priceless. I never considered myself poor, I was still blessed with love. Remember, you can't take it with you. The most spiritual people in the world have the least material things. For they know in the long run they do not matter. Look at Mother Theresa, Buddha, Jesus.....and tell me they were not wealthy.

i find in my spiritual view point that the realization of having less material wealth or posessions only confines your growth and spiritual insight to what really matters which can easily slip past you when you are caught up in finances, money, material things, or having too much belongings that they weigh you down to the point of their responsibilities of bills causing anxiety, worry, and sometimes depression.

Well said. That is so true. One who can be happy with the least amount of things is truly blessed. I go to Haiti on mission trips. These people have nothing except the clothes on their back (If they even have that). They are the happiest, loving, GIVING, content people I have ever met. They are thankful for every blessing that comes their way. I have never met anyone with such faith and trust in God (the Christian Haitians that is). They are truly one of the most rich people in the world.

No. Rich people have money to by all they want and need, which allows them to experience more of what the world has to offer and to grow into the greatest person they are capable of being. Someone who lives in a trailer and is content is simply a content poor person...content to not live to the best of his abilities or make the most of this world. What if all the great inventors in history were content to live in a shack and eat beans all their lives? Then you wouldn't be reading this cuz there would be no internet, computers, electricity, plumbing, farming, etc..

There are many different ways of being rich. It's not always monetary wealth. Wealth of spirit, morality, etc are far more important. Of course, I'm not implying that you don't need food and a roof over your head. The wealthy people I've known are miserable.

A rich person is the one who gives the most because they get the most returned to them.

For the two choices you listed, I'd say the one who needs the least. You could need the least and still have nothing...meaning that you require less than others.

Yes.

The former owner of a funeral home near my town sold the place for $3 million. He already made a lot of money in the business, but wanted to retire.

He drives an old van, his wife drives an old Buick sedan, and they live in a small--nice, but small--house. They don't have much, but they are very rich. On top of that, though, they gladly share their wealth, and have helped my friends make mortgage payments.

Need isn't something that is effected by wealth after a certain amount of money needed for the good levels is reached.

Rich people have different needs like their own skyscraper or something, if you want to defeat needyness you can do it right now.

54. Jesus said, "Congratulations to the poor, for to you belongs Heaven's kingdom."
63 Jesus said, "There was a rich person who had a great deal of money. He said, 'I shall invest my money so that I may sow, reap, plant, and fill my storehouses with produce, that I may lack nothing.' These were the things he was thinking in his heart, but that very night he died. Anyone here with two ears had better listen!"

80. Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered the body, and whoever has discovered the body, of that one the world is not worthy."

81. Jesus said, "Let one who has become wealthy reign, and let one who has power renounce ."
110. Jesus said, "Let one who has found the world, and has become wealthy, renounce the world."

64. Jesus said, "A person was receiving guests. When he had prepared the dinner, he sent his slave to invite the guests.

The slave went to the first and said to that one, 'My master invites you.' That one said, 'Some merchants owe me money; they are coming to me tonight. I have to go and give them instructions. Please excuse me from dinner.'

The slave went to another and said to that one, 'My master has invited you.' That one said to the slave, 'I have bought a house, and I have been called away for a day. I shall have no time.'

The slave went to another and said to that one, 'My master invites you.' That one said to the slave, 'My friend is to be married, and I am to arrange the banquet. I shall not be able to come. Please excuse me from dinner.'

The slave went to another and said to that one, 'My master invites you.' That one said to the slave, 'I have bought an estate, and I am going to collect the rent. I shall not be able to come. Please excuse me.'

The slave returned and said to his master, 'Those whom you invited to dinner have asked to be excused.' The master said to his slave, 'Go out on the streets and bring back whomever you find to have dinner.'

Buyers and merchants [will] not enter the places of my Father."

That's a very good way of putting it!

I've known some wealthy people, and they are the saddest, sorryest, most paranoid people you can imagine.

Well it depends on what the subject is. Has what the most and needs what the least?
