Trying to ease the guilt they feel? Trying to make themselves feel better?
I found out from my best friend whom I've been friends with all my life that 8 people are searching for me on reunion.com. One person even called everywhere, including my best friend and one of my aunts searching for me. The person who called made a snide remark to my best friend when my father and grandmother died six days apart over six years ago. Then I ran into them 5 years ago and they just ignored me. It has been over six years since all this happened. When I moved a year ago I made sure nobody but my best friend would find me and she could warn me about intrusions. What is it with this person and the other people who are searching for me? Why the heck do they care now? Do they really need to ease their guilt?

It sounds like that might be the case. Are they dying from cancer or anything?

Like the other poster ahead of me said, people do grow up and want to make right some of the stupid things they've done. I don't blame you for not wanting to deal with them, but maybe you could just hear them out and then tell them how you feel and why you want them to leave you alone. If you don't want them contacting you at your place, maybe you could go to your friend's house and call them from there or meet them there. That way they don't know where you live, but you can still put an end to it. And if after this meeting they still keep trying to reach you, you can report them for harassment.

People mature over time. Maybe they have and they realize that they did something wrong and they want to change it. Talk to them it will make them feel better and it might give you some understanding as to why they did what ever they did.

Well, we all mature and regret some of the things we did. If you don't want to see them, don't bother.
