If you want me to be honest, I think those 6 people who raped and tortured that girl in W Va deserve worse than hell. They deserve to be forced to do the same things they made her do before they go there.
I know it's not Christianlike of me, but I have to be honest.

No, we certainly don't deserve to go to an eternal fire. I think that the parables that Jesus tells are illustrations of a higher truth- that people would choose to be away from God's love. If you look at Earth, in a way it is a foretaste of Heaven and Hell. Heaven in that there are glorious acts of nobility, courage, and virtue. Hell in that there are detestable acts which shock our sensibilities, as already alluded to by many people above. Imagine that there is a place where people live by selfish desires with no altruistic motivation, and that is Hell in a nutshell. It is a place of lust, greed, malice, hatred, and horror- because all people are out for #1. That is my belief in a nutshell. Do I believe people deserve to go there? If they live a life that is in opposition to the principle of charity and goodness- absolutely. But, as I said before, God didn't put them there because "He is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance"

The Bible is clear that since God is just, anyone who rejects His gift of salvation deserves to go hell. Actually, everybody--me included deserves to go to hell. I am a sinner saved by the grace of God.
Suppose you had a very serious illness, and you went to the doctor and asked him to treat it. Then suppose he gave you a prescription that would cure your illness—but you refused to take it. Who would be to blame if you failed to get better—the doctor, or you? I think you know the answer.
In the same way, the whole human race has a very serious spiritual "illness." It is a disease of our souls that the Bible calls sin. It is so serious, in fact, that it has put us on the road to eternal separation from God—which is what the Bible calls hell.
But listen: God loves us—and because He loves us, He has provided the remedy for our spiritual disease. The remedy is Jesus Christ, who took the punishment we deserve when He died on the cross for us. This is why the Bible says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Yes—salvation is a free gift!
But what if we refuse it? What if we fail to accept the remedy God has provided? Who, then, is to blame if we continue on the road away from God? The answer is clear: We are. In other words, God doesn't send us to hell; we send ourselves. Don't gamble with your soul, but by faith accept Christ so you can know—beyond doubt—that you will go to be with Him in heaven forever.

Romans 3:10 For all haved sinned and come short of the glory of God.
As a human being we are all deserved to go to hell but
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Jesus Christ is the way going to heaven He died for our sins in order for us not go to hell.
We must Believe,Repent, and Accept the Lord Jesus in our hearts as saviour and Lord.Do it now!!!!

Sorry for butting in, but I'm just shocked by CJ's response. To beleive that everyone deserves Hell is the most ridiculous statement I ever read. If you beleive that God created us and labelled us *guilty* from the very second we come out of our mothers' wombs, then you're completely insane Mr. CJ
Oooops, sorry for ranting here, he just kinda ticked me off :P

Well... Some people repent their sins. Others think nothing of murdering, raping, stealing, lying, cheating...
It's not even a matter of being a believer or not... I think God would be lenient on an Atheist who committed a horrible crime and felt so much guilt that they never committed a crime ever again.

I would rather reserve judgement on anyone.
Do people get what they deserve? Probably.
It is God's decision and whatever He does is going to be the right decision.

Yes I do. I feel just as scripture says we all are unworthy of heaven and deserve hell. Its only by grace that we are saved, those that are.

in the first place.. hell is not literal. it simply meant you're erased from God's memory. since God warned us that there are those who can have this fate, then there are really some people who deserve this.. in my own opinion and observation from Biblical examples, it is those people who even after being given graces by God, even after receiving favor from Him and even after receiving the whole Kingdom message, he still denies it or even ridicules it or dont make it his priority.. that way, he compromised himself and nobody can help him anymore
