I believe the Word of God to be The Truth--the Living Truth--that shall set us free.

What are Christian organization teaching in regards to false christs and false prophets?

What biblical guidelines are christians to follow to help them discern whether something they are being taught is the truth or a lie or even a deception of those false Christs and false prophets?

Matthew 24:23-27, "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

It starts with what knowledge a person is given.

If I am taught half truths and cherry picked verses to support a doctrinal positions - I would believe lies. Smooth lies that is.

Here is a link and you will see blatant lies and deceptions by demonically influenced persons.

There are people that think the bible should say this or not say that - These too are convinced of their own thinking rather than the the Words of God.

These may be dismissed by Christians that know as harmless half truths.

Half truths are still full deception.

These would blunt the sword of God, put on the full armor....

always line up teachings with the bible. do they believe
that YESHUA was the SAVIOR .
was HIS mother a virgin. was HE sent from
ADONAI. did HE arise after the crucifiction. did HE
return to the FATHER. will YESHUA come again.
if any says no to any of the above then they are false.
do they accept all scripture ( even Paul's) and the book
of Revelation.
are both Testaments used.
are baptism and communion a part of accepting
YESHUA.

i try to line up teachings of any group with the word
and of course i ask for discernment from the RUACH
HAKODESH.

I think it takes place on the fundamental level. Our church family is encouraged not to take anyone's word on any given subject. We are to follow up on a minister's sermon with our own study. We don't take the word of the elders, they are just men, too. Of course, we take everyone's opinion into consideration as we study for ourselves but the challenge is to always be able to prove by scripture our own personal understanding of the scriptures. Provided we keep in mind that if we are truly growing in knowledge, our understanding of the scriptures will change as we grow.

Paul talked about the ultimate false prophet as the one that has a false gospel, in Galatians 1.
