I am having disposable cameras laying out around the reception site... but I want to put a little note on the camera so that people know to take a few pictures and then put the camera back down for someone else to use. Obviously people know they arent supposed to take the camera home with them, but I dont want them keeping the same camera throughout the whole reception because I will have a camera with nothing but pictures of them on it... I just want pictures taken here and there and leave the cameras where they were... what little cute saying can I type up and tape to the camera?

Disposable Wedding Camera Sayings
Should you decide to place a disposable camera on each table in your reception hall here are a few sayings that you may want to print on a card beside them:

Verse #1:
To celebrate this special day,
Pick a camera and really play.
Leave it on the table when you are through,
So Mary and John can develop the pictures taken by you.

Verse #2
Take this camera and have some fun
Get some pictures of everyone!
Maybe you'll see something
We didn't see that we can keep as a memory!

Verse #3
I'm your camera - so have some fun,
You'll make this album a special one!
Snap away as best as you're able,
Then leave me on the gift table!

With disposable cameras though, people just leave them on the table, and then it's up to you to get them printed, etc. Which, as bad as it sounds, at least ensures that you are going to get the pictures. If you ask people to upload them, it becomes their task, and some people may just not do it. You could always put a note asking people to upload to a specific site, and that is a nice way to save the money on cameras, but I guess it depends on if you know your guests will actually do it.

Honestly, some of my BEST pics came from those disposable cameras! It's all a matter of opinion though.

This is what we did. Our DJ made an announcement that the cameras are available to snap candid shots, and then allow all guests at the table the chance to take pics. Also, we asked our best man and maid of honor to visit each table to remind guests to feel free to take candid pics and leave the cameras on the table. Then as hubby & I made our rounds to visit each table, we did the same thing! We never needed any written reminder becasue it would be too small to see, and no one would probably pay attention!

I agree that the developing fees were pricey, but IMO so well worth it. Like I said, our best pics came from disposable cameras.
Good luck!

One thing I am thinking of doing is having a note on each table with the camera telling each table to take a picture of a certain thing or certain people. Like a scavenger hunt. It makes it fun for all including the kids. My sister-in-law did this and we got so many good shots and people loved it. Just have a list of things for people take photos of, like the kids dancing, father daughter dance, mother son dance, cake cutting, kids dancing, etc...
Anything you want, and you can also put them all around and have a list so people can mark it off and someone else can take a picture of something else if they want to.
Just an idea.

Actually you should tell them to leave the camera on the table when it is done or else they just might take it home with them!

There are some samples of what to say on the internet.

Hey. Do you mean like a camera cover that you can write instruction on?
Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Easywedding/
Join up (it is immediate and free) and in the files section there is a camera cover template, You just print them up with your wording maybe something like:

Take a pic and pass it on,
variety is what makes it fun.
Leave it on the table though,
and we'll collect it when you go.

You could even use your theme colours on it it you wanted.
Hope that helped.

If I could name one thing that is a big waste of money, it is this. The disposable cameras, and what you pay for developing.

You get a couple of badly-framed shots of the wedding party, and a lot of the drunken guests hanging on each other sticking their tongues out. That is if you're lucky. If you aren't, you get pictures of guests on the toilet, and upskirts and down-zipper pics of you HOPE you never know who.

There isn't any cute saying or little note that will make the guests do as you want.
