Jesus said that we should forgive the person who wronged us seventy times seven times. The Lord's Prayer says
"forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." So, if we expect God's forgiveness, we need to forgive those who wrong us.
I try not to hold a grudge against those who hurt me. Whether or not others will forgive me when I've hurt them...... well that's up to them, isn't it? I hope they would. I can do no more than to ask their forgiveness.

This would depend on what type of mistake and how the regret is shown. Considerations about what relationship exists bwtween the two people should also be taken. It's usually better for the person who is 'wronged' to forgive the person who 'wronged' them as not forgiving often creates a barrier between the two poeple, and fogiving can often be a way of letting go and moving on.
However, it should be acknowleged that his isn't always easy as sometimes it's hard to judge how genuine that person is truly sorry. You can usually tell though if there is sarcasm. Hoever note that there are also others who are genuinely sorry but are to intimidated to tell the person for fear of a negative response. And others like keeping face...
Forgivness should not be a thing that is expected, nor it is a strict obligation, but not to say that people don't deserve to be forgiven, deipite what they have done. Forgiveness is va good thing to practice~if not we'd have a very depressing world and poeple wouldn't get the chance to change for the good.

that would depend on how much hurt was caused to the person.
how can we EXPECT the person whom we've done wrong to, forgive us, and let alone totally? we can only repent and not repeat the mistake.
i'd say time may erase some bad memories but once bitten twice shy. i may forgive, but i'd be a fool to forget.
also, its too generalized to answer ur last qns.

Yes, darcymc, I'll try to overlook the grammatical errors. We should always forgive. We will only hurt ourselves in the long run to keep all of that madness toward the other person inside. Just let it go and get over it.

My philosophy is that if someone can't forgive a mistake, they had better never ask for forgiveness.
Everything is forgivable. Always forgive, even if someone else doesn't.

A sincere apology means a lot more than an insincere one. I will forgive, but never forget. I will never fully trust that person again. First time, shame on you.....second time, shame on me!

Our mind is very different"It needs compromise when we are wrong and it needs judgement when we are right" so when you know that you are wrong be dareful and ask for sorry from the deep of your heart but when your right also ask for sorry because it make your relationship strong and also make the other person realize that he/she was wrong

When you ASK for forgiveness--YOU HAVE DONE YOUR PART----the way they take it is up to them.
BUT you did your part.
If they forgive you---God will forgive them for holding something over your head.
