What about increasing tax on petrol (gas)? Here in the UK we're being taxed out of existence on petrol and diesel fuel in the hope it will make us use our cars less. All it does, of course, is penalise those less well off who have to use their cars and put up transportation costs so haulage companies have to charge more for getting food, etc to markets. The cost of public transport is iniquitous so there's no incentive to take a bus or a train. It's a win-win situation for the Chancellor of the Exchequer, but a loose-loose situation for the ordinary tax payer. Rip-off Britain is no exaggeration!

My vote is for a national tax on food. I mean we all have to buy it, every American uses it, and they are now saying we are a nation of obese people. So since food is something everyone must buy, then why not add a 50 cent tax on every say 2 dollars you spend on food products. I think after that there maybe a national tax on all paper. Just make it like 50 cents per pound of paper that the paper manufacturers sell. That will be passed on to consumers and there ya go another great money making strategy. Hey if the federal government could they would find a way to tax us for the air we breath each year. Whoops I'd better watch out they may already be working on that idea! lol =)

Food something we can't live without, we can live without cigerettes but not food, first it will be junk food then they will tax milk products (they have fat you know) then it will be fruit (they are full of sugar). when they tax junk food and the obesity epeidemic is not getting better (so they sya how do we know they tell the truth?) they willl say fat people eat alot of dairy tax it, they it will be fruits as fat people eat alot of that. and because fat people use more air then thin let's tax fat breathers too.
what a bunch of crockers.

Hopefully alcoholic beverages; maybe that will reduce the number of drunk drivers. On second thought, politicians will just vote themselves pay raises to cover their increased alcohol expenses, meaning our taxes will go up.
