Sherman: What will you do to win the votes of the Americans who are atheists?
Bush: I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in God is important to me.
Sherman: Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?
Bush: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.
Sherman (somewhat taken aback): Do you support as a sound constitutional principle the separation of state and church?
Bush: Yes, I support the separation of church and state. I'm just not very high on atheists.

Big shock: It shows Dubya for being a fool and an ignorant bigot who'll say anything he thinks Dick "And We Do Mean 'Dick'" Cheney wants him to say.

Interesting, especially since the only way he can even be in the position he's in is by being an atheist.
It's impossible to be a nationalist AND a follower of the true Christ.
It's impossible for any nation to be "under God". Nations were created by men to separate themselves from God.
It is written that God loves people, not nations. And that the true Christ came not to bring peace to the nations, but to run a sword through them.
That's why the phrase "God bless America" is an empty and fruitless statement. And also why the word "Christian" no longer means what it originally did. Because even that word has had it's meaning subverted.

I hadn't heard that, but I'm not an Atheist. However I am a Pagan and he has very little for us either. Personally I think he is a joke and always has been. Anything he says sounds stupid. He embarrasses me every time he opens his mouth. All I can think is, people think we Americans are all like him.
EDIT: I meant to make sure that I was clear meaning I meant Daddy and son both.

Well then.
George W. Bush doesnt like alot of things.
For instance Gay Marriage.
He pretty much said the same thing for gays.
Like he said:
Yeah,im not very high up there on gay marriages it is in the bible and it says "I shalt not lay with another man as I would with a woman" and its really screwed up.
My best friend is Atheist.
If he doesnt like it.
Then too bad.
He needs to live.
Quit er somthing another.

i do no longer supply a rat's patootie approximately "righteous," cupcake, yet I did each and every thing i'd desire to to make helpful that Bush wasn't elected the two time. no longer my fault that their lies - and the surprising courtroom - carried the day. in spite of the shown fact that, merely FYI, cupcake, yet atheist =/= liberal. hi, basically a rhetorical question, yet did particularly everybody get an email from this dimwit asking some dumb-azz loopy question approximately Bush and Gore and Kerry?

I am an atheist. I don't like either Bush. However this quote has not been verified! There is no proof behind it, AT ALL.
HW BUSH has made similar comments about atheists (on the old Imus radio show) so it is not a big deal - but really people, you should not use this unsupported quote.

To say that this was just another dumb remark from Bush is understating it.
Where would he be if 75% of the people who voted him into office were atheits?
Does that mean he wouldn't accept their vote?
The man has lost it!!

We should be grateful that GWB believes in God so strongly! Just think, if he were an atheist he wouldn't have heard God telling him to invade Iraq and where would we have been then?
