I am thinking about joining the raf to become a pilot and i will be able to pass all the fittness exams with flying colours. The test that worries me though is the eye examination. I have been wearing glasses for reading for 5 years and i am now 17. Please could anyone tell me if you can be a pilot in the raf or not if you wear reading glasses.

As of 2004, for a pilot in the RAF there was an minimum *uncorrected * vision requirement of 6/6 (20/20) in each eye, and a maximum refractive error for longsight of +1.75 with no more than 0.75D of astigmatism.
(All other eye factors including binocular stability being normal as well.)
If you'be been wearing reading glasses since the age of 12, you could be inside or outside that limit.
