i dont think its enough, i need to see her every week.
She told me that we would start having weekly sessions, this was about 3 weeks ago, but it hasnt happened.

Do you think i should tell her how i feel, or should i leave it up to her to say something?

The counselling relationship is a working alliance between counsellor and client. It is fundamentally based on trust, honesty, and openess.
If there are issues that you are not comfortable with, then bring them in to play, and present them to your counsellor.
Everything is open to discussion, and your allocated time slot is " your time and space" to bring out into the open as to what you want to work with.
Your need of feeling that you require more regularity, and stability implies that there may be underlying crisis`s that your counsellor has not recognised yet.
Bring the subject into discussion and explain how you feel and what is going on for you !

Yes, do tell her that you want your counselling weekly, as of now. If she says it's not possible, ask her why, and how long it is likely to be. It may that she has other clients scheduled in so she can't give you a regular weekly slot at the moment, but weekly therapy is much, much more effective for most people and I would hope she can sort it out very quickly, having taken you on.

she could be waiting for you to ask again. Especially if you have issues with asking for stuff.
I attended a counsellor a few years ago, and I wanted to miss 1 week a month, but I was told it doesn't "work" unless it's a regular weekly thing.

I am surprised to hear of a counsellor doing fortnightly sessions!!!

Hmmm I know that one well !!!

there is only one commonsense answer !
don't hold back let lose, tell them all and be heard
they are professionals in listening and Ignorance !
if you don't say, they wont help !
Ive been put on 30 minuets every 3 months
don't feel intimidated by the stigma of " mentally ill "
its your right as a relevant person of society to be valued as such .
refuse to be labelled and written off
your the only one that knows you
be indignant if you have to and sacrifice your pride
to be heard ...

You should be able to feel comfortable enough to talk to her about anything that matters to you. Good luck.

I would talk to her about how you feel. I'm sure she wil be happy to talk to you about this. I wouldn't wait for her to mention it but bring it up yourself.

if you need more therapy than you are receiving, yes by all means, tell the counsellor.

and work the program.. it does work when we work it, and put effort into our recovery. hugs
