everyone always says you need your rest, but when you exercise doesnt that get lymph moving through your body or something? and you sweat, which removes impurities from your body, and you get vitamin d if youre in the sun.

and this may sound like a really stupid question to all you people who know a lot about this kind of stuff, but i just dont.

its been thought for a while light exercise when u have a cold is beneficial to reducing severity and length.

i think as long as u do not have a fever and your feeling energetic enough to try light exercise go for it. if you don't feel up to it, or when u start exercising feel weak or different you should stop IMMEDIATLY.

exercising when sick can make you worse, so best to think it through first. and check with a doctor if your worried.

Actually, it's not that stupid.

If you only have a mild cold, exercise won't hurt you at least. But if you've got something severe that's making you feel lethargic, your body is telling you that you need to slow down so it can fix what's wrong. And certainly before the advent of modern medicine- and often afterwards- sunshine was recommended to help 'bake' the problem out- probably because of the vitamin D, as you suspect.
