I think the child was 6 maybe 8 or 9 I am not certain but his father sodomized him and now the father is dead many many years later. There is a possibility that the father also molested his granddaughter too.

If the person you are referring to is experiencing fear, anxiety, and depression and/or flashbacks because of this abusive experience, they might be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. It's hard to tell unless diagnosed by a doc or psychiatrist.

I sure hope this person gets proper help. Therapy is a good way to face our pain and fears and to learn ways to move forward and cope with the past.

Your friend needs to realize some things -- the abuse was NOT his fault... and the abuser was very ill (otherwise, he would never have assaulted this boy). Sometimes victims of abuse feel it's their fault, but it's NEVER their fault.

I hope it works out and that your friend gets good help.

take care.

I doubt if it will erase it may help push it to the back . Time may heal the wounds as it usually does.but there a scares the best way to handle somethings like that are forgiveness believe it or not .My ex had a problem like that and it always hurt but when i got her to forgive the ones that harmed her things also got better for her. With my wife i made her confront the person and tell them and told her even if they dont accept its what she has done that counts . If the person is dead I would still do the same even if you cant get an ans back .

NO, but the person should turn to God and Jesus, and ask Them to help him to forgive the person that did this..How sad, how horribly sad, that this child had to endure this mistrusting, sexual abuse by a trusted supposedly loving adult. But the Lord says, that we have to forgive people, no matter how heinous the crime, if we want Him to forgive us. Many will not agree with me, and I don't care if I am hated for my answers, because this is what God wants us to do. He will take the pain away from us...He is the great Healer, and the only Healer, and no one can top HIM and no one can top Jesus, when it comes to healing..forgiveness, is divine, and blessed are those who can love their enemies, and forgive them.

i doubt a hypnotist can erase those memories or heal them. even if it were possible, it would only be temporary. sounds like a good psychologist is in order.
