Don't be afraid to open a Bible; it won't bite. The answer is in Genesis 1:1. Even the most devout atheists know this Bible verse.
God is not limited by time. Since we are stuck in time it is hard for us to comprehend eternity.
Your question assumes that God exists. If God did not exist He could not create or do anything. So that moves you from an atheist to an agnostic. If that is true then it is time to change your avatar and screen name.
If you are convinced God does not exist (it is impossible to KNOW He does not exist) then why do you hang around the Religion and Spirituality section of Y!A? It is too bad Y!A doesn't have an Atheists & Scoffers section. I could really have some fun there.

In the beginning The first thing is the beginning. Man is not appointed to know before that and what is eternity anyway. It has nothing to do with time.

simple , God created his firstson or first angel
Colossians 1:15-17 "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him"
the rest of the sons of God were created after the first one and throught him .
YES , God has many in fact millions of sons
Job 1:6 "Now it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them. "
Job 2:1 "Afterward it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and Satan also proceeded to enter right among them to take his station before Jehovah"
Yes they are gods all of them
Psalms 82:1, 6
Verse 1 "God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods"
Verse 6 "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High"
He became a father after creating the being we know as Jesus (he has another name in heaven) and their are very close, but are not the same person nor equal.
Yes trinity is false , the concept that are equal in power one is more older and powerful than the other.

You love God a lot, don't you? You are so very interested in Him.
You can't really be an atheist.
I think you secretly love Him. Otherwise, why would you ask so many questions about Him on a daily basis? You spend too much time thinking of Him not to be a fan of His.
Have a great day! He loves you.

The First thing the Divine created was itself, this also answers part two about what the Divine was doing before then.

God created the heavens and the earth. As God is eternal there is no past and future. He is always living.

Since God is like a cosmic conciousness, creation is always present. Every thought is a creation. Humans are too proud to understand God and how powerful he really is.

Himself, and Thinking About It.
The correct answer is, Unknown. Think about the lack of understanding of an ant about the processes of a fat kid pointing the sun at it through a magnifying glass. Now multiply this perplexity by a zillion.
