Wow, that is kinda hard.

Sure, the Pentium 4 may have more cache.

However, the Celeron runs 1.0Ghz higher.

Anyway, according to this : http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2004.html?modelx=33&model1=43&model2=38&chart=21

Even just a Celeron 2.6 is faster than a Pentium 4 running at 2.0Ghz. And since if my memory is correct. There is no Celeron running at 3.0Ghz, only a Celeron D. Which has a cache memory the same as an early Pentium 4 (In which 2.0 is part of.)

If you are upgrading motherboard, why use outdated technology. Consider the latest technology:
Cheap single core: Celeron 440 (ConroeL), beats even the 3.6ghz Celeron D365

Cheap dual core: Pentium E2140 or E2160 (Core2 Duo), comparable or better than a 3.0Ghz Pentium D.
