it is a document of the density and porosity of rocks- http://www.geo.ucalgary.ca/~maillol/goph457/Lab2_density.pdf

http://www.union.edu/PUBLIC/GEODEPT/hollocher/pedagogy/K-12_labs/Labs/KH2/KTH2.htm
http://archive.globe.gov/tctg/bulkden.pdf?sectionId=94 this site has some pretty good illustration

http://www.evergreen.edu/washcenter/modules/moduleList.asp go under 1.2B. Density of rocks - Some applications

read through that and this will give you an overview of how to measure density of rocks also check out other links on this site as well. lucky you, you just got into some teaching material lol.
the periodic table will give you the basic density and mass of an element. http://periodic.lanl.gov/list1.html just click on the element and it will give you atomic radius, mass, everything.

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/mass.html tells you how to measure weight and mass.
http://www.physics.ucla.edu/k-6connection/Mass,w,d.htm

hope these help...
