...when the word apple goes thru your mind, what color do you see? unless it was described, then what color would it be?

Yes and no.

When the word "apple" first goes through my mind, it is a constellation of traits that represent "appleness." This is a concept, it has no color.

Then, yes, an individual apple comes to my mind, and it is green, as Granny Smith apples are my favorite.

I think in concepts first, then particulars.

Very good question! :-))

Vividly - - - - with an Apple it is the whole spectrum thing, usually Vivid Green then variations of Green then to Red striking then paling then Yellow again the brightest yellow to the dullest Yellow and if I am still thking Apples it goes back to Green in an endless circular cycle unless I have had enough of apples in which case I will jump to Pears and after Pears seize upon those Yellow Pears to zing into Bananas which eventually leads me to Eggplants which is a good way to think Purple....

I love bright colors, but I never thought about the colors when I am thinking. Sad to say, I think my thoughts are in black and white.
