Finishing high school soon, and I just want to be prepared for life after it. I know the old saying, have no regrets, but lets face it, there's always something in our life that we ask ourselves;
"What if?"

So I'm asking you;
How is life after Highschool?
Did/didn't you achieve your goals?
Things that you ask, What If?
What plans do you have for the future?

... Life isn't always cherries and cakes, Please don't sugar coat the answers.

I'm asking again because I enjoyed reading everyone's life stories.

Life after high school when you're on your own is a lot harder than it was in school. You don't get detentions or suspensions you get fired if you miss to many days or make to many mistakes.Same goes for horseplay. But ultimately it's better you can find work that suits your own personal hours and preferences.I didn't really have any goals when I was younger, all I wanted was to get out of the town I was living in.....I had no idea what I was going to do next, but I no longer live there so I guess I did.I now work in health care and I love it most days.I guess my biggest what if is what if I had chosen to move to a bigger city so that my degree would actually benefit me and I could get the job I actually started out wanting(Graphic Artistry and Design).Actually at this point I have no plans for the future, for the most part I am happy with where I am in life and my current occupation, should my mindset change then I will make new plans.

High School sucked.
College was much better - partied my tail off and got my work done.
Early 20's were great. -- Still partied a lot
Did not start seriously making goals till late 20's.
Yes, I have achieved most of those goals and working on a new set.
You will always ask "What If" that is the nature of being human.
Plans for the future include planning retirement and traveling more.
Hitting the lottery would also be great.

Enjoy your life and never ever miss the opportunity to travel.
I loving visiting other countries and learning about their cultures.

Life after highschool is good. College is much different though. Everything may not go as you planned, but if you keep trying it will come. I have achieved alot of my goals and am still working toward them.
It can be really hard when the unexpected/unimaginable happens and those things can set you back. Things like health issues or losing a loved one especially.
Try not to worry to much a/b the what if's, but we all have them. Just be grateful for the things that are going well and try to stay as positive as possible!!

I can't wait to start traveling again. I also plan on making plenty of money and investing it well, being happy in all area's of my life and to keep surrounding myself w/ like minded people. Positivity is key!

Good Luck!!

all I can say is I went through a huge change. Lots of good and tough experiences.

I went to uni, met new people, learned new stuff, and strange as it may sound, I really fell in love for the first time, and learn about all the hardship and pains that comes with it. We're friends, chat online most of the time, but I still love her as much as ever.

And I also begin to seriously take up some hobbies, like playing the guitar. Before highschool, most of my free times are spend on computer games and TV. Now, I spend them on Y!A lol.

I took up guitar, and now learning some simple card tricks. Just for fun though I'm not going to be a guitarist or magician.

My studies isn't exactly a happy story though. It got worse as compared to high school. Now I'm just pretty much waiting to finish my degree.

Life certainly has became harder for me, not as carefree as I use to be after highschool, but it's much more meaningful too now. There are things that I know I wants and I persue it.

Well my Highschool years are way gone, but I wanted to be a Police Officer or a Paramedic, my mom brought us then, that's why I finished HS here, and I can say I did not know the system or the way to get to it, the counselors were just not very helpful explaining, you know, how to get to your goals, or at least I felt it that way.
But I am very lucky to be where I am, I did some College and got to work, and little by little learned more and more, went higher and higher and presently I work for the State, it's Government and I have awsome benefits and retirement that will take care of me one day.
Some of us won't have a Diploma, but I can assure you that with hard work and responsability you can find an awsome job.

While in high school I had so much fun! I lost a very very good friend along the way - she didnt die we just stopped being friends and I felt like it was the end if the world. Now, we talk and its fine. We have both grown up so much since high school, and its fine between us now.

As for the after life of high school...

Things that happen in high school dont really matter. You probably wont be friends with the same people unless you make an effort to. Dont be scared or sad, you'll make new and better friends in college.

i hated high school and would never want to go back to those days. The people who said that "high school is the best days of your life" lied because high school was simply awful.

life is about 1000 times better now, but I have to admit the real world is hard work :)

i have acheived most of my goals - great job, inner city apartment, awesome friends, but the one thing that seems to always elude me is finding that someone special to settle down with. ahhh maybe someday :)

the only "what if" I have is - "what if I didn't stop taking music classes?" I gave them up when i was 15 because it was uncool and really regret it now as I was quite talented and will never know what my potential could have been...

Try find a good job, something you like. Try to find a good woman, someone you can also be friends with. Try to save all you can and build up something for the hard times and for later in life, you'll be glad you did. Try to be the best parent you can be and don't be so judgemental towards your kids. Do your best. Personally I've had my ups and downs but at 57 I'm very content with the way things have gone in my life. I hope you have the same good fortune.

I was glad to get out. That was 1959. I worked in many
different kinds of jobs. One was a CA--Chiropractic
Assistant. I married, had kids, grandkids. Life has been
good in so many ways. I wouldn't trade my husband or
family for all the money in the world. They are the best.
