the turion listed is a low power consumption single core - the other two are performance dual cores.

the numbers at the end are used for Model Reference - its handy when you run a company that has a couple hundred different processor products under its belt. the X2 means Dual Core, and the 64 means 64-bit processing.

the TK-53 and TL-50 are closely matched though. Honestly I'd just have a whip at the TK-53 for the extra Ghz. Both have the same Bus Speed (1600 Mhz) and Memory cache, where all the processor operations happen (each have 512kb)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-53 (1.7GHz)
hands down the best of the three.

MK-36 X2 (Trinidad core) is the best amongst the three. It is the fastest and is also a dual core. X2 is AMD's branding for dual cores. The desktop Athlons are better because they operate at higher speed. The Turions are actually mobile versions of the Athlons (lower speed but lower wattage for mobile).

my Compaq Presario with the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ is pretty decent. I also have 1.5 GB of RAM.

I know that didn't help seeing as I'm no computer programmer or expert.
