Depends on where you are from, and what your nationality is.
You can check the passport and visa requirements of this site:
http://skyteam.com/EN/travelPlanner/timatic/index.jsp
If it states that you need visa best go to the site of the Danish embassy or consulate in your country, because the info is there, mostly it is easy to find.

For cost of staying, at least US$ 150 a day per person, that is staying in hostels and being careful with your money. Better bring US$ 300 a day per person, you will find it easy to spend that much.

Cost of air-travel depends on where you come from, and how well you search for the best price.
There are many sites selling tickets and sites helping you to find cheap ticket, search for the nearest airport /a near big airport to where you live and Copenhagen, ticket, or cheap tickets and you will get links to sites that can help you.

Go to www.visitcopenhagen.com and type 'visa requirements' in the search box. Everything is laid out for you in this site.

Most countries, including Denmark, allows for a 3-month stay but depending on where you are coming from, you will need to do a check on line to compare the airfare of the different airlines that service this area.

Hope you make it to Copenhagen - it's beautiful!!
