let's say that my mother is 55, she is overweight. Her overall condition is good. The only problem is that once in a while, usually after diner she faints. Her blood pressure suddenly goes down and she vomits. She becomes all sweat and soemtimes she faints.
She did many exams but they didn't find anything.
Last time it happened 2 years ago and again yesterday.
The only common factor is that it happens after she ate and usually for diner. It's really scary, it seems she is going to die.
After it has gone (like 10/15 mins) everything seems normal again.
We are very worried and besides having consulted many doctors we don't know what to do. Do you have or did u hear about a similar case?

I mist say also that sometimes this happens when she starts a diet. The last time she started a diet for a week, but I must say that she just decrease a bit pasta and she ate a full meal.
We are worried.

If she has seen a doctor about it and they found nothing, then she is healthy - otherwise.

First thing that comes to mind is a vagus nerve reaction. In some people the vagus nerve can run very close to the esophagus and get stimulated by swallowing. Syncope (fainting) can occur.

I would follow up with a thoracic specialist, or a gastroenterologist .

I am a retired nurse
Have the doctors checked her blood sugar. It needs to be more than a 3 hour test. Is there protien in her urine?

Another thought is something called Posteral Hypertention
Ask the doctor abou it. It can be tested in the doctors office..by checking blood pressure in a variety of positions.

Also she might have some food alergies.

It doctors can't give you help . try other doctors.

It also could be menapsuse

As funny as this may sound in some ways, next time it happens, call an ambulance. The ER may take it more seriously and the medics can monitor more than just her bp. Clearly something is up.... initially I was going to go with blood sugar but I doubt that is the case.
In the meantime, be persistant. Complain and protest that your doctor do more.

What is she eating? She may have a food allergy. She can be tested for this. I don't like the sound of it. It must be pretty scarie especially for your Mother. Fad diets are no good. A heathy nutritious food plan and regular exercise is better. I would be going to a different Dr. Everyone has a right to a second opinion.
