Sheep with short legs have a lower center of gravity and so are more stable and able to maneuver better on steep slopes. Also, sheep with shorter legs generally have more strength in their thighs for climbing / descending.

well, shorter legs means that they stay close to the ground and thus their center of mass is lower and they're more stable on the ground and therefore will not fall easily, especially if it's windy..and they'll walk quicker/run if a wolf comes for example as the short legs means that the air resistance is much less for them.
i hope this is physics homework though, because if it is not then the answer would be different...maybe u can indicate that as the answer will be different for different subjects

In Scotland, it is said, that sheep have short legs on one side and long legs on the other so they can stand upright on the side of mountains. Whether or not the folk tale is true, I know not, but I pass it on for information.
