how do i start a union at my place of work?

U.K answer only,i work in a small lock factory in the Willenhall area of West Midlands.

I'm pretty certain there is a lockmakers union - althoughI can't remember for sure (was a long time since I worked for Chubb/Gunnebo!) You need to get in touch with them and start a branch for your factory. Good luck.

Phone ACAS and ask them for the name of a couple of unions that would be relevant to your trade
the TGWU springs to mind. Then contact them and ask their advice
