I am so happy you feel that way, too. I have a new found sense of compassion and loving kindness that I never had before... I really had to change a lot of things in my life- I was hateful, lazy, manipulative, a liar... Once I finally cleaned my self up, my eyes were open to a whole other world. It is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me.
A few weeks ago, I was on the bus and a man dropped his wallet. I jumped up and gave it to him while everyone else just sat there. It was an instant reaction to help this man, no thought really involved, I just acted on the right thing to do. Two years ago, I would have been one of those people sitting there, doing nothing, waiting until the perfect moment to take the wallet for myself. I am not religious either, but i do have a deep and rofound belief in god, and it is in day-to-day moments like that that love is manifested.
I, like you, regret many things I did when I was younger (i am 22), but I think that because of that, I have a greater sense of compassion and understanding for people that I never would have otherwise. I think that is a gift in itself. People like you and I are examples of one of the most beautiful truths about humanity- we can change. That helps me look at the world with hope and love instead of fear, hatred, and judgement.

I saw so many questions on this site some sincere....some silly. I am going through a lot of personal issues. For me nothing is life threatening or anything like that. I am I know a spiritual person. I have made a lot of mistakes in my 43 years. Please do not beat yourself up. I find that when I "pay it forward" ( no questions asked) things just happen to fall into place. I pray the same prayer every night no matter what. For me, there is no magic answer, but I feel that my prayers keep me grounded and gives me the strength to carry on.
We are so quick to judge (myself included).
I am so glad that you have the faith. I am not a bible thumper, but we do not have to be. He knows.
By the the way, Karma will kick your butt. I'm sure that is not what you meant to say. I feel ya.

You never advertise what you have accomplished ("I don't suffer from jealously, shame, and pride anymore") That in itself is being PROUD.You could fall back to your old ways anytime. We are very weak. The Devil is always around tempting us,nobody is perfect. You need to practise HUMILITY before you please God.
I am not being rude or sarcastic to you when i say these things but being a Christian is a never ending struggle to stay one step in front of the Devil. God will look after you if you are sincere .I hope i haven't offended you with my remarks .Good luck !

Good on you,at last you found your true happiness with God.Me too being a christian I realize that you could do some little things for your friend & you feel happy afterwards. My son is very charitable, he earns his money so he had something to give.I don't,but doing some favors for the next door neighbor when she let me look after their young 2 kids makes me happy.I never expect that she would gave me a lucky bamboo plant in return for that& said i can do it again just in case you needed me to.

dude, around 10 years ago, I saw "Fully Aware, No Regrets", written on the back of this guy's hardhat. That stuck with me. (I'm 46 now).
Because of your beliefs, God can make lemonade from the lemons in your life. He does not waste a thing.
I understand what you are saying from "your" heart.
We good?

Relisations make one's feel good. Once it happens you are on another level of better and you wont repeat your mistakes in the past, such is the very nature of relisation. May your relisations of better were inspired by ethics, knowledge and/or belief. So, i think i know, pal~

I seem to feel what you are trying to express. Regret is but a natural emotion. But, everything happens for a reason.
I feel happy for your enlightenment and transformation. God bless you more with happiness! (",)
