most Americans thinks that we should thanks US because it kills sadam,a cruel dictator.but I ask u people a question:'Who brought sadam to power?','who equipted sadam in the war of Iraq against Iran?','who were giving sadam weapons to kill innocent people in Iran'.obviously America supports sadam against Iran and when they understand that he is going to be dangerous for themselves and give information that they didn't want to be released they killed sadam. So it was not because of Iran ,it was because of theirown benefit.

Actually it's not necessarily Iranians we don't like, just the policies and actions of your leaders. Ahmadinejad likes to use threats against other countries. Is that being hospitable?

As an American I can tell you son that many of us will NEVER forget the dishonorable way your people treated the Hostages from the Us Embassy in 1979. That image of Iran will not leave our minds. There is no doubt that the Iranian government is supporting terrorists in Iraq and Lebanon and Palestine.
Ahmadinejad's claim that there are no homosexuals in Iran may be true. If you hang them all there won't be any right? That is disgraceful. Ahmadinejad is a contemptible liar and the Iranian people deserve him. The terrorism that you give to other countries will come back to haunt you.
Iran is playing with fire so don't complain when you burn down your house.

I guess it's because Ahmadinejad called for death to America and Israel. Iran keeps sending ignorant terrorists into Iraq that actually think God will reward them for killing innocent people. Most people want to live in peace around the world. The average American wants nothing to do with this war. The president of Columbia was wrong to invite Ahmadinejad in the first place and then made a bad decision worse by insulting him. It doesn't say much for Columbia if that's how they teach students. I wouldn't send my child to that university.

I am truly sorry that you feel this way.
But you are right. There are a lot of Americans that see all Iranians as terrorists. This is an unfortunate situation and those Americans in question should know better. The best thing to do is show Americans that you are not a terrorist, obviously, and also show them that you are the same as they are--Human. A human with dreams and desires the same as any American. A human that's trying to live his (or her) life. You pay bills just like everyone else. You eat, sleep, and breath like everyone else on the planet trying to make their way.
You already stated as to why Americans feel this way. It is because of our media and the fact that people in America are quick to make assumptions. Not all people in America are like this. The media in America is not doing it's job properly because there's no money in it This is an unfortunate situation in a capitalistic society, but it's to be expected at some point.
As an American myself, I also get frustrated over people from other countries assuming things about me or my friends. You are not alone in how you feel.
Lead by example. Ignorance and violence are the enemy. Education is the tool to utilize and spread among the masses.

. We judge by what we are told, we have no other way to see who you are. The media, the people that have been over there. I try not to be bias but, it's bad when we here people like your president say some of the things he says.
He hates people himself. the Jews, I don't know what his problems are. Now he's rubbing shoulders with Chavez, another American hater.
When there's problems in the world, natural disasters, who's the first and, sometimes, the only country that comes to the aid of the people. You have all forgotten about Saddam and, the terrorism he was doing over his people. We came in and stopped it, now all of a sudden, when it's over and, we count over three thousand of our own people that have given their lives to your freedom, you turn your backs on us.
Iran is waving it's swords at us, they think, they really think, they can create a war and devastate us. It would be a war to end all wars and, I'm sure, your president, the Nazi lover he seems to be, will end up having his population decimated by our forces. If this is what you and, your people are after, keep him in office, if not, find a way to get rid of him.

I am Iranian by heritage, but born and raised here in the US. And yes, it is very frustrating to see so many anti-Iran Americans. And I agree, I thought that the interview at Columbia was handled very poorly- why invite a foreign politician just to call him names and insult him (NOT saying that I agreed with what Ahmadinejad was saying...) I wish I had some advice or wise thing to tell you that will ease some of your frustrations with Americans who think Iranians are terrorists, but I don't. Just take consolation in the fact that YOU know better....

Theres politics, money, hate, Jihads, and evil people trying to make sense of a disorganized society in which you live and i feel sorrow for your dilemma!!

back in my grandfather's time there was a old saying
"one bad apple can spoil the whole barrel"
that is how many people are these days they are narrow mined and believe that all people are the same in one race or one religion, all because of what a few bad apples had done!
Me I was taught that there is good in all people no matter what, my grandfather hated to here anyone be put done as he believe that ever one had something good in him, even if it was that he or she had nice hair.
He was a true Christian man and wanted all his grand children to grow up thinking the same way.
To this day I try to never judge anyone by their race, religion but instead go by their action towards me, treat me good and I will all ways do the same for you.

Thank you for your thoughtful post. My cousin is married and lives in Iran. Based on what I know, the vast majority of your country's population are kind and gentle and delightful people.
Unfortunately, many people in the USA are afraid of facing the truth about world events and would prefer to believe the world that is presented to them on television and in other media outlets.
It saddens me to see how materialism has become a focus in our culture. Rather than trying to live well and consume less of the world's resources, Americans often gauge their success by how much they consume.
In many ways, many Americans are living a shallow and less satisfying life. I wish that our population could respect the value of other cultures and other ways of living.
There are many groups in the US who are trying to tell the truth about the sad events in the world today, but the media largely ignores them and tries to discredit them.
I will continue to try and share the truth and work at the community level to bring about systemic changes. America should not attempt to be policemen, judge, jury, and legislators for the entire world.
