I have a little sister that is 18 years old younger than me.
I don't mind her yelling at me, in fact I let her do, then I give her the time to calm down and discuss with her.
I suppose this is how I'd handle a situation if I had my own children as well.

Hell no ! I'm the damn boss , every time they yell at me I go get the belt . Anybody who gives timeouts and takes stuff away is a p.ussy ! Plain and simple , Time out and taking away the PS2 doesn't work . I'm not one of those stupid wimp parents who thinks hitting is abuse , it would be abuse if a kid were going to school wit broken parts and all that stuff . I'm from Miami , we don't do stupid timeouts anywhere in the damn South Florida area !

Allow? Sometimes we all lose our tempers. Allow doesn't come into it, I have to sort the problem out and apologize if it is my fault. Otherwise when they calm down they do. Mine are big now, but even from tiny I have apologized if it is my fault if they are angry, kids are human too.

Nothing, If I had razed them correctly from the start, then, they would have learnt to respect me and also when the grow up treat me as a best friend too. I miss my dad.

and I don't have any kids yet either

I never had children. I have taken care of nieces and nephews for the majority of my life. Believe me, they didn't yell at their parents and certainly did not get away with yelling at me.

I don't, but my wife does. Sometimes they forget they're yelling at me so I whack 'em.
