The Fundamentalist Christians are as great or even greater threat to Americas freedom than Fundamental Islamics. Their agenda is to make this Country into A Fundamentalist Christian State. That will be governed by their interpretation of the Bible. Same as the Fundamental Islamics misrepresent the teaching and passages in the Koran.

Abuse by those who have themselves been abused is indeed a very big problem, but the problems you conflate with Christianity is common to Right Wing Authoritarian pathology that is not necessarily Conservative Christian much less Christian generally.

Unfortunately there is a group among the Gang Of Pirates that makes even that sad, sick, mindset pale in comparison. Folk such as Stiles take their victims one or two at a time, but the Dominionist PseudoChristians would murder wholesale and in public if they ever got in the full power they are very close to.

These folk, either covertly or otherwise, are behind every effort to break the Church-State barrier and create a theocracy. Like the Islamists they would kill anyone suspected of an array of thought crimes, but even for many "Crimes" Islamists would only have beatings.

Please read the links noted, it is important that folk understand who these folk are. If everyone knows what they are they will not be able to hide among ordinary Christians.

I didn't realize a national religion has been designated for the United States. The link you site is tragic, but it has nothing to do with religion. In fact, in many Islamic countries, the perpetrator probably would have been already dead.

If America has committed itself to a national religion, as you suggest, that might be a basis for it becoming dangerous, but not in sexual abuse that you cite. That is as repugnant for atheists as it is for Christians, Jews, Muslims, and every other legitimate religious group.

There was nothing in the article that said that the suspect is a Christian. People are people, there are good ones and there are bad ones, religion has nothing to do with it. (Excluding terrorists).
