I seem to have this problem where I feel pain more easily than others do. It feels like a crushed heart. Yes, definitely a crushed heart. I feel this way whenever I see a sad TV show, movie, read a sad book, or when I feel sad myself. I know this is supposedly normal, but is there any way to help let go of this pain quickly? Instead of just forgetting about it cause I always seem to remember things I don't want to remember.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this helps, but sometimes it hurts so bad I sort of can't move. I doubt it's a disease, cause it only comes when I see or feel something sad...

Since you are so emotional, trying to let go may not help, as you said you would remember it. Was there any event in your life that affected you significantly that effected you to feel this way? or is this how you have been since you can remember?

I am thinking that there may be some deep-seated trauma that is suppressed that is trying to manifest itself in making you emotional. If there is such a thing, identifying it might help.

I won't suggest forgetting, for we never truly forget. Accept that you are easily affected. Maybe put this extra energy into something else. You seem to be a caring person. Maybe you should volunteer some of your time to help others.

I don't think there is any easy way to resolve this, especially if you have been like this for a while. It will take time. Maybe keep a journal of your feeling at these time. Write down as much information as you can. What brought this about. Who were the principle characters involved. Once you close the journal, try to leave your emotional state with the journal, not forgotten, but put aside for a while until you are ready to analyse your emotions.

Read "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle

I know how you feel. Some people just are more sensitive than others. But it is something you can work on if you are serious about it.
Hugs for you*

Start Listening to Joyce Meyer on tv, look for her program. If you buy her tape on pushing thru emotions, it could help you. I really consider what she says because its bibical, and I recall my situation where she says just forgive even if you don't feel it, do it and smile. She says after a while of doing this we will forgive. Jpyce meyer has a website of alot of good tapes on emotions, you aren't alone!

I'm afraid only time will mend this. We all go through pain and cope with it from time to time in our own way. Just try to stay positive, that helps. If you go around moping, then you will attract pain to you.

sounds like depression, but try turning around right after the "sad" thing and do something you KNOW will make you smile...As to what depends on you.
