i'm doing a year-long final proj.. due in like 2 mths.. and i realise there's so many freaking things i dont know.. or dont fully understand, that i dont know how to start asking.

i'm rather introverted, and i'm really afraid of asking stupid questions.. i'v asked my grp mates some before, like, what is it for? etc etc when i'm supposed to know it before starting the proj.

do you think i shld start asking the stupid questions now?

the internet spews up some really chimology that i dont think i can understand, given this short period of time..

and erm.. what do you think of ppl who ask stupid questions? liek their brain is not working and they ask 'huh what is BCR?' when the answer is on the whiteboard but the person nv notices it?

There are no stupid questions. The really smart person knows that he/she can't possibly know everything about everything. It's important to ask questions. That's how we learn stuff. Make a list of things you want to find out about and go after the answers in a straightforward and orderly way. If you have to, write down the answers. That will help you remember them. It's OK to say "I don't know" when you really don't know. Much better than trying to bluff your way through something.

The only real stupid question is a question you already know the answer to and you ask it to demean people.

Start asking questions, in fact, always ask questions when you do not understand something. It might turn out that some of the questions you have are the same ones your group mates might be having. Is it worth it not to ask questions? You might not appear stupid, but what about your grade?

Maybe stupid is too strong of a word. Try lack of understanding. Since this is a group project, I would believe your performance affects the grade of the group also. So maybe you can break the ice by stating that you want to contribute more to the group but there are things that you do not understand and you would appreciate their help.

You can also ask some questions here regrading your project. I am sure there will be people here that would be happy to help you out.

Well if someone asks a stupid question and I mean just to be stupid well they deserve I'm afraid a stupid answer...If they are asking with the objective of learning something new well then it isn't a stupid question. It ceases to be stupid once that person asks it really, to learn from a question, to better understand things is a step to knowledge not stupidity. So don't be all hard on yourself and just ask away.

Lol...no such thing as a "stupid" question. There are questions that have seemingly obvious answers, but that doesn't make the asker stupid.
If it's for a project, though, try this tactic:
Ask questions that you KNOW are "stupid" ones, and make detailed notices of the answerers. Then, for good measure, throw in some "funny" questions, as well. Like, "Why do we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?"

There is no such thing as a stupid question. If you don't know the answer to something and would genuinely like to know the answer then the question is important.

If someone mocks you for asking the question they are pig headed and arrogant. Definitely stupid themselves. Maybe thats where the phrase "There are no stupid questions only stupid people" comes from. All questions are relevant and only the people who mock are stupid.

If your education is important to you (which I believe it is) then no question is stupid. If you don't ask you won't learn.

Good luck

The only stupid question is the one you DON'T ask.

As for how to start asking, make a list of your concerns and address just a few at a time. You won't feel as overwhelmed.

No...there is no such thing as a stupid question. The only way a question can become stupid is if it is never asked. But there is such a thing as an obvious question. Hope that helps.

Put it this way.How do you know a question is stupid until you ask it? I reckon you'd be stupid not to ask a question you might think is stupid.I mean that would be stupid wouldn't it? But seriously you should ask questions related to your project-and quickly.

Asking stupid questions doesn't mean you're stupid. It means you want to learn, but you ask the wrong ones. =D.
