The ethical man knows the right thing to do. The moral man actually does it.
Ethics doesn't include the key ingredient of moral authority. As an ethical person, I understand the right thing to do, but if I will have to make a sacrifice to do it, why should I?
It's the right answer to the "why should I?" question that makes an ethical person a moral one. What moral obligation do I have to do the right thing? For most people, it is a feeling. Maybe a feeling of sympathy or pity but what moral obligation do I owe to a feeling?
The only moral authority that one is obligated to obey, I think, is God.

simple answer I learned long ago:
Morals are values that can and do change with time and culture.
Ethics deal with concepts of right/wrong, good/bad, etc.
