I know this is really early, but just out of curiosity will gta 4 be better on the ps3 or xbox 360. Since the mission's in the gta series are very long more- than 50hrs of game time, I think it will be better on the PS3, since I don't like to cause my 360 from hard ware failure from overheating, to much playing time, but I would like to know. Grand Theft Auto 4 is best played on Xbox 360, since with your Xbox Live Gold account you can download additional maps/levels. I don't know about PlayStation 3. Latest news has it that PlayStation 3 owners won't be able to play additional maps/levels for Grand Theft Auto 4. They just simply play all contents available in the disc, while Xbox 360 owners will taste a different bit of flavor with those downloadable contents for their Grand Theft Auto 4.
About your Xbox 360, it's best to put your Xbox 360 in an open, flat surface. You might want to play it in an air conditioned room, or at least use one fan - small fan will do the trick - to avoid overheat. I have my Xbox 360 has running its "career" for almost two years, and haven't have any problem at all, never mind overheat.

i will get the ps3 version because the game was suppose to be on the ps3 only and the controller are the best the online may not be as good as the xbox live but still there are online so what if the 360 has a DLB who cares it about the gameplay and i bet the graphics is better on the ps3 cause of blue ray and the games looks great and also they are coming out with the ps3 GTA4 bundle for the ps3 only !!!!!!!!!

It's been confirmed it will be for both systems (and probably PC), so don't worry about that (that was in response to the guy hoping it's hitting X360's, too).
That said, it will almost have to be better on PS3. The system's just more advanced than the competition, and it's got a lot more potential. We just have to hope that R* tap into that.
EDIT: It's true that the X360 version does get exclusive content, but I don't know if that would outweigh the sheer beauty that will be the PS3 version.

buy a intercooler for your xbox. works awesome for those long gaming sessions if you are afraid of it overheating. sry dont know which platform its coming out on. Hope its on xbox360 though cause i dont want to buy a ps3 yet.
