It depends, usually on how they land. They may land and experience some pain in their joints, maybe some soreness the next day. Usually, though, you'll have some sort of injury, such as broken bones in the legs (or other places if you don't land on your feet), sprains, ligament, tendon and/or muscle damage, etc. If the person lands on their back or head, (and even in rarer cases, landing the wrong way on their feet), they could end up with damage to the spine, spinal cord, brain, and possibly even death.

use your body as a spring/dampener to absorb the impact (Knees and hips bent, hands extended to catch the ground). if your young and healthy, not over weight and land right, you should be okay. it's only 10 feet. you will feel a slight sting on the bottoms of your feet.
any higher then that and your looking at some kind of painful injury no matter how you land

I live to tell the tale the 2d ground of our condo constructing. My cat loves going at the balcony, however he does not bounce off. In reality, he has fallen off two times within the one million & one million/two years we now have lived right here. This is kuz he jumps up at the steel railing at all times, & he is fallen best two times. The sidewalk is beneath us, so it is effective not anything's occurred to him. I've heard that cats are much more likely to die or get injured while falling from two or three reports than 10 reports due to the fact that they're nonetheless tensed after they hit the bottom & it shatters or breaks their bones. I located my cat at the sidewalk after a fall, & he used to be simply status there in surprise. My recommendation is to hold an eye fixed for your cat the primary few instances you allow them to in the market. ...& in the event that they ever fall or bounce at the railing, be aware that if you do not listen them jogging round or something anymore, then you definitely must mainly verify to ensure they are nonetheless up there. Good good fortune! =)
