It depends, usually on how they land. They may land and experience some pain in their joints, maybe some soreness the next day. Usually, though, you'll have some sort of injury, such as broken bones in the legs (or other places if you don't land on your feet), sprains, ligament, tendon and/or muscle damage, etc. If the person lands on their back or head, (and even in rarer cases, landing the wrong way on their feet), they could end up with damage to the spine, spinal cord, brain, and possibly even death.

use your body as a spring/dampener to absorb the impact (Knees and hips bent, hands extended to catch the ground). if your young and healthy, not over weight and land right, you should be okay. it's only 10 feet. you will feel a slight sting on the bottoms of your feet.
any higher then that and your looking at some kind of painful injury no matter how you land
